COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Event Horizon Imperial Stout is an incredibly rich and luxurious beer brewed with ten malts, local honey, and four American hop varietals before and extended aging in oak bourbon barrels. The result is a beer with many layers of complexity. As the name implies, with one sip you will be unable to turn back. This 2010 special release will age well for years to come, or enjoy now in good company. Cheers!

On tap at Busy Bee (Raleigh). DARK brown with lighter brown head. Aroma is sledgehammer strong of malt and bourbon. It tells all, leaving nothing. Taste is the sledgehammer, in a very good way. Powerful malt flavors, and the bourbon flows after. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

ChrisO’s Pre GBBF ’Are You Scottish?’ tasting. Opaque black - brown beer. Good dark tan head. Palate is softish and airy and a little dry. Lovely rich dark malt with dark chocolate. Light vanilla, mild fruity bourbon. Finishes semi dry with all flavours in good balance. Very drinkable!

bottle, from Triangle Wine, I believe and I thought this was a later release than 2010. good aroma, sweet roasty. dark chocolate, licorice. Dark brownihsn black color. good initial head, faded to a soft foam cover, spotty lace. bitter sweet flavor. thick body, creamy oily mouthfeel, bitter finish. good, but something I’m not liking here. I mean it’s rich yet maybe the multiple ingredients done come together for me, oh well

Bottle shared at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig ’13, 10/08/13. Mid black with a good sized tan head. Nose is rich double chocolate cookies, toffee fudge, sugars, rather decadent. Taste comprises roasted malts, treacle toffee, chocolate, oaky notes, light booze, mineral tones, tar. Full bodied, fine carbonation, alchocl is well integrated and the bourbon is but a subtle hint. A solid impy affair!

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013. Thanks to Bruce. Black opaque caramel with a relucant tan head. Nose is huge bold smooth roast. Flavour is roasty coffee, smooth boozy, wood. Very good. Some berry notes in there as well.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013. It pours opaque black with a medium dark tan head. The nose is wood, roasty, fudge, toffee, toast coconut, sweet vanilla and bourbon. The taste is thick, oily, roasted malt, coffee, earth, toast, decent bitterness, mild acidity, vanilla, dark fruit and tar. Medium+ body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Nice nose, but unfortunately didn’t find it that drinkable. A touch cloying. Decent nonetheless.

Bottle at ChrisO’s pre-GBBF Shindig 2013. Colour is very dark brown, opaque, thin tan head. Nose is black treacle, very sweet, oaky bourbon whiskey, Madeira barrels. Taste is very sweet black treacle, chocolatey, with strong bourbon whiskey notes, but the sweetness softens the hardness of the wood and whiskey.

At Chriso pre GBBF Shindig 2013. Black beer lasting tan head. Chocolate sponge aroma. It’s actually pretty nice some balance. Not terrible.
