Bomber from timfoolery. Pours dark brown/black with a transient dark tan head. Aromas of smooth bourbon, with a honey itch toward the back of the throat. Full bodied. Flavor starts lovely dark chocolate, quickly followed by treacle and bourbon. Itís quite tasty. Excellent.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black pour, small dark mocha had. Bourbon, vanilla, coffee, sweet aroma. Same f the taste, Honey sweetness is present but not cloying. Some wood/smoke as it warms. Some alcohol present. Full body, lower carbonation. As much as i liked drinking this i cant help but think this would have made deadly rib marinade. Good balance. 2012 bottle.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Jet black, small dark brown head. Intense woody, boozy, vanilla bourbon nose. The bodynis thick and quite nice, with low carbonation. Flavor is quite sweet, light notes of soy and cocoa with touches of burnt malts. Problem is the bourbon barrel just takes over and punches you in the face. A nice stout, but the barrell over powers.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22oz bottle that my brother brought back from Charlotte, thanks Jeff! 2012 Vintage. Pours a black body with a finger-width, dense and creamy, dark brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is pretty awesome. Very rich dark chocolates and a bit of a molasses sweetness with lots of roasts, a really nice wood and bourbon, some vanilla, and coconut. Flavor is similar. Rich dark chocolates, lots of roasts, bourbon, wood, coconut, molasses, vanilla, and a few dark fruit notes. Finishes dry, roasty, woody, chocolatey, and bourbony before leaving a lengthy aftertaste. Creamy, smooth, medium-full body and a soft, medium-light carbonation. Overall, an awesome BA Imperial Stout. The barrel adds a very nice complexity to the base and stays extremely well balanced throughout. Loved this one.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bottle served in a CCB Snifter. 2012 vintage.
A: Pours a dark black color with some semi-transparent edges. A tan head forms on the pour and recedes quickly to a thin ring. Some splotchy lace is left behind.
S: Light bourbon up front with a malty sweetness. Caramel and milk chocolate are both present with a minimal heat to it. Strange for 8.5%. Some oak on the finish as well.
T: More sweet than the nose suggests. The milk chocolate and caramel notes coupled with some light vanilla definitely leads to the sweeter side of the spectrum. Some roasted malts in the body with a prominent bourbon characteristic displayed on the finish that is coupled with some oak barrel.
M: Medium to heavy bodied with a medium carbonation level. Sweet on the finish.
O: I like the bourbon characteristics were present, but not overly alcoholic in nature. Probably due to the low ABV. Iím glad the heat in the nose didnít transfer to the taste. Overall a very solid beer.

2012 bottle to Stone IRS tulip. Thick black pour with a foamy brown head. The head looks like the top of a cola from the side but looking straight down into the glass it reminds me of a rich, creamy chocolate milkshake. Sweet and boozy aroma that reminds me of dark chocolate covered nougat. The alcohol fragrance is there but it comes across more as chocolate liqueur than whiskey. Taste is very similar to the smell with a little more roast and a bright, but not overly prominent burst of hops. This is extremely well balanced in every aspect. All of the flavors are there but none outdoes the other. Even the booze finish is warming and clean like a good vodka. Medium full in the mouth. I was expecting more whiskey flavor but Iím impressed with whatís in this glass.

I wasnít going to tell you this. Iíve been listening to the distress signal, and I, um, think I made a mistake in the translation.
I thought it said "liberate me" - "save me." But itís not "me." Itís "liberate tutame" - "save yourself." And it gets worse.
There - I think that says "ex inferis." "Save yourself... from hell." Look, if what Doctor Weir tells us is true, this ship has been beyond the boundaries of our universe, of known scientific reality. Who knows where itís been, what itís seen. Or what itís brought back with it.
