The taste is hot and sweet. Cocoa, raisin. Vanilla. Spicy yule log. Full body, syrupy. Soft carbonation. Pleasantly fat, flavorful.

Nice stout with a heavy raisin taste, but I think itís a bit overrated. This is a great stout, but I think itís overrated for the price you have to pay. Olde Hickory is doing a great job with this stout, but the price at the local bottle shop where a patron gave me a taste was just too much. Great stout in the $8-10 range for a 22oz, but not at the $15 price point.

Black with a quilt of mocha foam. Smell was evident as soon as I cracked the bottle. I donít know what barrels they used here, but I only have smelled this nose in PVW 20+ yr barrel aged beers. Minerals, nougat, vanilla, booze, cocoa, marzipan and honey in here. Really complex nose. Flavor is robust with sweet malts, some caramel, some fudge and some molasses. Again the honey is evident - which surprises me. Mineral character still there also. Full bodied with low carb and an off-dry finish. Nice beer, really the nose does it, the flavor doesnít do the olfactory justice.

Sample at GABF - Pours thick black with nice brown head. Nice is big bold bourbon and roast. Flavor is equally as big, but quite smooth. Coffee, bourbon, just a hint of booze, oak, tar, dark fruit, vanilla. Very very nice.

Shared with rxeight. Pours jet black with tan head. Nose is of well blended bourbon and vanilla. Taste is similar and we both concurred that its comprable to black note but lacked the viscous body. Nice beer.

Bottle thanks to trev1179 (BA). Aroma is almost identical to blacknote. Lots of bourbon and chocolate. Touch of heat but not as much as most. Milk stout aftertaste. Palate is a little thin compared to most bba stouts. Lots of carbonation.
