COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Event Horizon Imperial Stout is an incredibly rich and luxurious beer brewed with ten malts, local honey, and four American hop varietals before and extended aging in oak bourbon barrels. The result is a beer with many layers of complexity. As the name implies, with one sip you will be unable to turn back. This 2010 special release will age well for years to come, or enjoy now in good company. Cheers!

picked up this bottle at bestway after hearing much ado about it. i don’t think it really lived up to the hype, but it was delicious.aroma is sweet, and the wood aging is evident. i even think i can smell the honey. taste is sweet as well, very light roast flavors. lots of bourbon vanilla and honey. the palate is super slick, and sort of light at the same time. overall it was very good, but i felt the sweetness was a little out of balance. i guess i was expecting more robust roast and hops. good beer, drink it if you find it.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Brusin Ales, 1/28/15

Aroma: The aroma is heavy bourbon, some wood, vanilla, chocolate, and a bit of coffee
Appearance: It pours a thick, dark brown-black color without much head, and with light, streaky lace
Flavor: The flavor of this one is bourbon barrel first and foremost, with the malty flavors (chocolate, coffee, etc.) coming through more subtly and later on, there’s a light bitterness on the close
Palate: This one has a thick, creamy mouthfeel, it is fairly heavy, had an average carbonation, and it has a boozyiness to it that makes it feel well over 8.5%, and a somewhat dry finish
Overall Impression: This one is pretty good, I mean bourbon impy stouts are always good, but it just feels like an average example of a beer everyone makes. I don’t mean that in a bad way, but it has to be better than this to really stand out in this style in my opinion.

22oz bottle from trade - cheers Blazay. Bottled 17th Dec 2014. Dark chocolate, vanilla and bourbon aroma. Light to medium carbonation. Thick and oily palate, very viscose. Burnt sugar and coffee cream initially, roasted hazelnuts, sweet service-station coffee, dark chocolate. Finishes sweet and sugary, with lots of cocoa. Very rich and a bit too sweet but still enjoyable.

Bottle (2012), thanks to drfabulous. Sampled next to OH Imperial Stout. From notes: Pours thick and viscous, like motor oil. Aroma is full on fudge brownie; roast dialed down from imp stout. Honey present in the taste as well; slick, viscous, velvety ... really nice.

Bomber. Vintage 2013. From a trade with jcnielsen. Thanks a lot Justin! Enjoyed at the ISKTR 2014. Black colour with a small brown head. Whiskey sweetness, vanilla, roasted malt, hops and bitterness in the aroma. The flavour is roasted malt, vanilla, whiskey, a lot of sweetness and mild bitterness. Rich and smooth but still rather easy to drink. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Kaatuu pikimustana, kultakatriinan värisellä vaahdolla, ihan ok viipyvyys. Ylimakea raikkaahko tuoksu, ehkä käynyttä luumua?. Suutuntuma leipäinen, kuohuva, alkoholinpoltteinen, raikas, hapokas.
