Bomber from timfoolery. Pours dark brown/black with a transient dark tan head. Aromas of smooth bourbon, with a honey itch toward the back of the throat. Full bodied. Flavor starts lovely dark chocolate, quickly followed by treacle and bourbon. It’s quite tasty. Excellent.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a dark brown color with an average to large frothy brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate, wood and alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy dark sweet malt flavor with a medium to heavy sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer.

A: The pour is thick and black with a finger or so of brown head.
S: Rich bourbon and vanilla aromas that are just smooth as can be. A moderate roasted malt character with plenty of smooth chocolate, particularly dark chocolate. Quite a bit of caramel and molasses as well. Really quite decadent.
T: Plenty of rich, smooth vanilla and bourbon flavor to it as well. Dark and milk chocolate, caramel, toffee, and molasses provide some nice sweetness and there is just a modest amount of roasted malt.
M: Medium to full in body with a creamy and smooth carbonation.
O: Very pleased to have tried this beer. Fantastic stuff. In retrospect, I should have shared less and hoarded more.

Bottle at ChrisO’s Great and Powerful Pre-GBBF Tasting - Are You Scottish Edition (London, 2013). Big thanks to Bruce for bringing the Quality. Pours deep, oily black with a thick brown foam head. Aroma holds heavy chocolate cake, some earth and torched wood. Big sweet flavor but not cloying, with notes of lightly bitter chocolate cake, some molasses, dark fruits. Full bodied with fine carbonation and a creamy texture. Moderately warming on the finish with further rich chocolate cake, toasty bread and dried dark fruits. Great beer.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Pours coal black with a small, creamy, beige head. The bouquet furnishes a medley of dark chocolate, vanilla, molasses and coconut. Mega full-bodied with tickling carbonation. The flavor is a mélange of pouch tobacco, vanilla and molasses overlying a gentle nuance of toasted oak. Warming, chocolaty-sweet finish. A huge thanks goes out to Elliesbrown for shipping this beauty my way!
