COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Event Horizon Imperial Stout is an incredibly rich and luxurious beer brewed with ten malts, local honey, and four American hop varietals before and extended aging in oak bourbon barrels. The result is a beer with many layers of complexity. As the name implies, with one sip you will be unable to turn back. This 2010 special release will age well for years to come, or enjoy now in good company. Cheers!

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2014 Got a bottle a few bottles in a trade. It pours a very dark black. A thick dark colored head. A big honey alcohol covered chocolate aroma. Also a big creamy marshmallow in the nose. All different flavors all flow together at once. Very smooth. Soothing and drinkable.

At Rich’s Massive Cellar Emptying Tasting. Event horizon pitch black with a thin tan head. Light coffee and chocolate flavor. Soft bodied. Syrupy sweet malt, bourbon and honey. A tasty surprise. as I knew nothing about this beer/brewery.

Bottle @ Drink Rich’s American beer, thanks to Omgrich.

2013 vintage. Dark brown pour with a brown head. The aroma is full of chocolate, roasted malt, oak and whiskey. The flavor is similar. I get a bit of smoke plus some chocolate, roasted malt, oak and whiskey. As the beer warms I started to get more smoke and ash character. Thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

@ Mega imperial stout tasting part 2. Pours pure black, creamy grey head. Smell is bitter, grainy, and big on bourbon. Taste is mildly bitter, very high on bourbon, roasted grains. Very intense, bit sweet. Very nice !

Bottle from Bruisin’ Ales. Rich sweet aroma of marshmallow and bourbon, light roasty notes. Super thick full body. Sweet honey, vanilla, and marshmallow taste with chocolate. A dessert beer for sure.

(Bottle) Pours black with a dark brown head. The aroma holds deep roast with dark bread, liquorice and whisper of coffee candy. Also clear notes of honey, oak, dark fruits and dried berries. Quite sticky nose. The flavour is heavily sweet, medium bitter and light acidic with honey, oak, dried fruits, liquorice, coffee candy and more roast. Resinous hops. The mouthfeel is fat, oily, silky and sticky with a light carbonation. Lingering finish. Near full bodied.

4/28/15. 2013 vintage. Poured near black w a deep red head that quickly dissipated. Min carb. Light roasty nose. Rich, complex mouth with hops way back and chocolate and cherries dominating. Still a bit of bourbon booziness. Lots of other flavors going on. Unctuous mouthfeel. Perfect dessert stout ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
