Draught in a flight. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a small head. Nose was a little bitter and smelled a bit of the classic English-style hops. Taste is a little bitter, but has a nice malty background to balance it out.

Had on tap at the OHB Tap room recently. Came out a dark honey orange with a small cap on top. Nose carried some vegetable scent, noble hops, grass. Crisp, mouth with moderate carbonation. Mild bitterness with dry character. Subtle fruit-like sweetness pulls through. This is a balanced bitter beer, that pared really well with my burger. Sorry I’ve passed over this one for so long. I may have to grab a few bottles now.

Bottle 22 oz. Hazy, dark amber color, tan foamy head. Aroma is biscuity, some hop spiciness. Malty, toasty, bitter, spicy.

Bottle pours copper with cream colored head. Aromas are fruity and earthy. Taste are earthy with grass, fruity, and bis quit notes. A very good bitter.

Location/Date:Bottle on May 10th, 2012.

Appearance: Pours a copper clear.
Aroma: Aroma is of caramel malt.
Taste: Medium bitterness, lots of caramel balance.
Palate:Medium-light, quick finish.

Summary: A solid ESB.

Possibly the best ESB I have had. Pours translucent brown, small head. Some hops in the aroma, a pleasant surprise. Palate is very refreshing, some mild caramel and a crisp hoppy finish. Tastes very clean, very refershing and more of a flavor profile than most ESBs.

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2012 Draught. Light amber with good lace. Farmy grain aroma with light floral orange. Flavor is citrus, light caramel mal, cooling candy grapefruit. Mouthfeel is soapy dry, then bitter and mouthwatering. A very nice American take on an ESB. Note I rated it from a different tap and gave it much lower marks...consistency, the tap, mine or the bartender’s mistake?

on tap at ohb 7/12/11. hazy orange tinted amber with an off white film as a head. it smells of orange, british hops, grass, earth, florals and some spiciness. the flavor is the same but quite malty... not sweet, just really malty with a spicy finish. the medium body has some oomph to it...6/4/6/4/15

Bottle. The pour was a hazy medium reddish brown with a large off white frothy head that had decent retention, reducing after a while to about a semi thin layer of film and a large collar which did allow for excellent sheeting of sticky lace. The aroma was of a biscuit malt, an herbal hop and an earthy yeast with notes of a mild caramel, honey and a bit of dried fruit (raisins). The taste was sweet and boldly malty with a hint of caramel and honey early on and progressed into a decently pronounced hoppy flavor with just a mild note of dark fruit at the end. The flavor stuck around for an average duration after the swallow with a moderate harsh hoppy ending. Mouthfeel was just a tad above light in body and extremely creamy and yet a little dry in texture with nice mild carbonation. Overall a very full flavored and smooth ESB, one that I enjoyed immensely...

Bomber from Sam’s Quik Shop. Pours a hazy copper-orange with a large pillowy white head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of toasted malts and floral hops. The taste is toasted malts, floral hops, citrus, stone fruits, caramel. Medium bodied. Nice beer.
