COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hearty Stout Ale with color and flavors derived from roast, chocolate, and caramel malts for a rich creamy mouthfeel. The pronounce hop presence (chinook and east kent goldings) balances the deep malt flavors (2-row, crystal 40, chocolate special b, roast).

quite a good sweet stout. would like more oomph in the roasted malts and maybe some burnt sugars in the backbone & some juicy steak-burgers!

Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting brown head. Aromas of roastiness, dried fruit, bitter chocolate and light coffee. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bitter chocolate, roastiness and light licorice with a smooth lingering roasty finish.

A black beer with a small brown head. The aroma is sweet and roasty chocolate. The flavor is roasted malt, dark chocolate, and a little alcohol. Very standard.

12oz bottle-thin lt brown-black. A-roasty/ashy/cocoa-dk malt. Lactose @cellar temp and the ashy/burnt fades too. T-ashy/roasty-dk malt, biting, earthy hops.

This beer is really pretty decent, but still nothing much to it. I like some more complexity.

[Bottle] Pours dark brown with a nice light brown head. Aroma is smoke, a little chocolate, and some alcohol. Taste is deeply roasted malt, with weak notes of caramel and chocolate. At first it was like sucking on a charcoal briquette, but after letting it warm for awhile, the chocolate really came out, along with some faint dark fruits. Not bad at all at that point. Thin, average length, watery finish. Mouthfeel needs work, and there is too much roasted malt, but this isn’t too bad. The best Olde Main beer that I have had so far.
