On tap at the 2007 GABF: Pours a transparent amber bronze with a thin tan head. Has a fresh grapefruity hoppy and sweet caramel malty nose. Starts fairly full and caramely sweet with a citrusy bittering hoppy balance toward a slightly warming finish. A pretty decent double IPA.

GABF 2007: Poured a hazy amber color with a thin off-white head. Grapefruit juice aroma that pretty much hides the malt. Grapefruit flavor. Malt from the middle to the earthy finish. Medium bodied.

On tap at Olde Peninsula. Deep murky red-brown body, thin-medium tight light tan head. Intensely winey, berry-like sweet body, boozy, with abundant citric hops in both the nose and flavor. Alcohol is warming but pairs nicely with the candied fruits and caramel. Reminds me a bit of Founders Devil Dancer but sweeter and a bit less rindy. More of a barleywine than a double IPA with the huge malt backbone, but I’m certainly not complaining.
