3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Olde Peninsula.
Poured a hazy dark copper color with an average creamy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus and earthy aroma. Medium body with a smooth slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
My expectations where met.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the 2007 GABF: Pours a transparent amber bronze with a thin tan head. Has a fresh grapefruity hoppy and sweet caramel malty nose. Starts fairly full and caramely sweet with a citrusy bittering hoppy balance toward a slightly warming finish. A pretty decent double IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Olde Peninsula. Deep murky red-brown body, thin-medium tight light tan head. Intensely winey, berry-like sweet body, boozy, with abundant citric hops in both the nose and flavor. Alcohol is warming but pairs nicely with the candied fruits and caramel. Reminds me a bit of Founders Devil Dancer but sweeter and a bit less rindy. More of a barleywine than a double IPA with the huge malt backbone, but I’m certainly not complaining.
