A reddish-brown delight with hints of toffee and carmel followed by a dynamic mix of hop flavor and aroma.

Draft. Not quite a porter; its malt profile is less complex. A good-looking brown beer body, though its taste runs a little thin at first. I go get a nice touch of coffee and chocolate toward the end, though.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a dark brown color with a thin white to off white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. Adequate foamy lacing clung for a little bit and then slid. The smell had a mild nutty/caramel aroma that when it warmed it seemed like there was a brown sugar thing going on. The taste followed the nose but the brown sugar thing was there before it warmed as it seemed more combined. On the palate, this one sat kinda light and came across fairly sessionable. Overall, decent brown ale, Iím not sure if that brown sugar that was meant to be there or not and honestly Iím not sure if I really liked it in the beer or not. I might come back to it if I ever saw it again.

Reddish brown with a thin off-white head. Aroma of caramel, sweet malt and light hops. Mildly over carbonated body had mild nutty notes to it and finishes somewhat nutty with mild burnt malts evident. Caramel and light roasted malts also embody the medium palate.

Dirty brown pour. Malty and nutty nose. Surprising amount of hopiness, but pretty malty almost like a scottish ale at the same time. Slight toffee or caramel. Clean finish. Good secondary choice after having a few stouts.

Tasted 4/26/08. Sampler from the brewpub. Hazy with a brown hue and red highlights. Trace layer of off-white head. Medium bodied and off-dry. Nutty caramel flavors. Medium effervescence. Tart flavor with hints of dark fruit. Nutty malty and cocoa flavors. Decent brown.

Draft sample at brewpub. Poured clear brown color with a moderate brown fizzy head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Medium toasted nutty aroma. Medium body. Well balanced sweet nutty flavor with a moderate smooth sweet finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable brew.
