Draft sample at OPB. Poured a hazy amber color with an average white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Good hoppy citrus aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Moderate hoppy bitter flavor with a medium bitter finish of average duration. Good brew.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2008 Cloudy orange and hazy. Hugely grassy and bitter, dank and juicy all over this one, from smell to taste to aftertaste, where it dries out. Mandarin orange notes and cannabis notices in this one, with some nice, crisp and clean biscuit malt notes and heavy use of c-note hops (or Amarillo?) Good stuff, but the nose got a little meaty and herbal when it warmed.

Cloudy amber pour with a thin offwhite head. Mild aroma of hops. The flavor has more power than the aroma, there’s some citrusy hops with chewy malt and a bitter finish. The body is light to medium with an oily texture and lively carbonation.

Styles (2014) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - JAN 3, 2007
tap: lighter copper with off-white head. Grea lacing. Aroma is citrus and pine dominated, almost no malt detectable. Flavor again is all citrus and pine, with no malt, but really doesn’t seem to unbalanced. Decent lingering citrus aftertaste. Body on the watery side, really hurts the score, still pleasantly surprised.

On tap @ OP. A smooth IPA. Apearance is auburn brown, and the aroma is mild hops. The beer has a soft earthy - grassy flavor which is blended so well that it goes down very easily. Carbonation is minimal - which increases the smoothness. The hoppy aftertaste lingers for a long time.

A bit thin and water-down IPA, but pretty drinkable on it’s own terms. Hop profile is way too toned down for the style...this would be considered mild for even an APA, I think. But still, I found it refreshing and easy drinking. Abv is currently listed at 6.75%.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours medium orange with a thin white head. This seemed understated all the way around. Has the pine, citrus, floral hop thing going on but all very muted even for a single IPA. In the words of Emril "kick it up a notch"

Pailhead (5097) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - DEC 10, 2005
On tap: Citrusy aroma with grapefruit hops. Transparent orangish-amber with a small white head. Quick slightly watery sweet citrus up front is quickly overtaken by a big grapefruit hopped finish. A tad thin in the mouthfeel. A simple IPA, but decent.

Hazy orange with a rocky white head. The aroma is sweet citurs hops, light bread. he flavor is bitter crisp hops, citrus, light pine with a dry bready middle. Dry medium palate. Not too shabby.
