COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A blend of Caramel and Barley Malts balanced with Perle and Hallertauer hops makes this amber a downtown favorite.

Draft. A good starter ale. Greater fruitiness and hop spiciness that other ambers I've tasted lately. Taste is something close to how Pete's Wicked used to taste.

On tap. Pours a darker amber-red with a smaller eggshell head that leaves plenty of soapy lace behind. Nose is hoppy, spicy and citrusy, with a little caramel presence. Taste is pretty bitter with a little sweetness. Lighter side of medium bodied with lots of bitterness on the end. Nice amber, plenty hoppy and fairly easy drinking.

On tap at Olde Peninsula brewpub. Copper amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma of caramel, sweet malt and light citrus hops. Taste of caramel, cereal grains, toasted malts and light hops. Carbonated body is balanced with a nice caramel-hop finish. Along with the stout, the best beer at the brew pub.

UPDATED: JUL 1, 2004 A pretty standard amber; hoppy (grapefruit), malt graininess didn’t particularly shine through, but didn’t impart anything unpleasant. This typifies the boring session amber for me. I’ve had far worse beers in Kzoo. I’d like to try more from these guys. OK that was memory and now I found my notes: Medium to full bodied, nice dark red brown. Great malt and hop balance caramelly and toasty - good - damn I love Hallertauer.

Pours a nice red, cream head. Pretty malty, nice floral aroma. Tastes the same, well balanced and clean finish. Has more character than the Killians and Lieni’s of the world.

Good amber ale. Red copper color with minimal head and moderate lacing. Carmel and fruit notes apparent. Good amber from a decent brewery/ pub.

On tap at the brewpub/restaurant. Murky orange-brown body, medium off-white head. Cerealy, light aroma with hints of caramel. Served cold, which masks much of the flavor profile. Thankfully, as this beer warms, rich layers of caramel, Cheerios, dark fruits, and grassy, bitter hops develop. Light bitter finish. A pleasant beer in all respects.

Murky unfiltered red and brown in color. Sharp, rough, thin and crusty on the tongue, harsh cracked grains and some cherry-flavored crystal malt. Medium hopped, in the vein of so-called imperial red ales, I imagine, but seems only around 5-6% ABV. Sweet fruit in the nose and a rough, husky malt body. Average.

Caramel with cloves and butterscotch notes. This is a nicely refreshing side to a burger.

Light amber beer with no pronounced head. No smell. Very hoppy and quite bitter. Tangy and carbonated. OK.
