2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle shared by ucusty. Smells like an aged oxidized ipa. Faded hops can be noted in the flavor but again, this beer is pretty done. Oily mouthfeel.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle shared by the crusty one--I mean ucusty. Not amazingly hoppy for an IPA. Wonder if this is old. Some pine and sweet malt. Sort of earthy/herby. Oxidized, I think, so probably past its prime.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shared by ucusty. Pours a soft pale copper with a one finger white head. The nose shows some age and deterioration as a result. Oxidized, heavy on the malt, some piny herbal hop character. The flavor is sweet and malty, bready, mild bitterness, not much distinguishable hop character. Palate is mildly bitter.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy copper, medium head. Aroma was citric with grapefruit and lemon rind. Balanced with a resiny hop over bready and honeyed malts. Balanced easy finish. A bit unrefined, even homebrewish, but drinkable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUL 25, 2009 Location: 22 oz bottle from Total Wine - Richmond, 7/24/09
Aroma: Citrus & earthy hops, a bit of caramel
Appearance: Pours a a nice clear orange-amber color, 1/2 inch of white head
Flavor: Both sweet and bitter, a nice balanced IPA, nice bitter finish
Palate: Medium to full body, and sort of dry
I like this one, it is a pretty tasty IPA. You could qualm with this one by saying it doesn’t hit all of the styles general qualities, but it is pretty darn tasty. A nice IPA, plus, it has the name of my birth city in it’s name, so I can’t argue with that! I’m a bit surprised this is rated as low as it is, I thought it was pretty tasty.

22oz bottle via Secret Santa Summer 2009-Pours a clear amber with a large beige head. Nose is mild..not much happening... lemony and alcoholic. Taste is tea (crystal malts), some toffee, orange, lemon, pine and grassy hops. Body is light, carbonation is medium. A bit thin. An almost average IPA.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Explosive gushing to huge, yellow, dense head over hazy orange beer. C-hops, bit of citruszeste, ureum and bit cheesy. Good C-hops again for flavour, but again a tad cheesy. Light green spring leaves. Very well-carbonated, slick, medium bodied. Very nice IPA, nothing boastful, but quite OK. Big thanks to CK!
