4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 eewhiz (2) - Georgia, USA - AUG 21, 2012 does not count
Pours with a small head. Medium lacing on the glass. Orange - copper color (clear). Slightly malty and some nutty flavors, with a touch of clove. This is an English IPA, but the hops are stronger than usual of this type (in a good way) Nice clean finish. Nice surprise :-)
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Heathen (1386) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - AUG 25, 2008
THOUGHTS: Wasn’t expecting too much from this one because I never heard much about it before picking it up, But it was a very nice beer. Great really.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, medium orange with an average, slightly off-white head that mostly diminished but left good lacing. The aroma was light to moderate caramel malt and heavy pine and citrus (mostly orange) hops The initial flavor was moderately sweet and lightly acidic; while the finish was moderate to heavily sweet and bitter and lightly acidic with and average to long finish. There was caramel malt then orangey citrus hops with a little pine too. The medium body was sort of syrupy, yet oily too. But a better word overall would be juicy. It had fizzy carbonation with a very light astringent finish.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 Braudog (5025) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - JUN 3, 2007
Bottle: Very light amber, or medium golden, lightly active with a respectable head of tacky white foam. The aroma is peppery and woodsy. Drinks with a full malt foundation, with a sticky hop consistency that gives it a unique bite; there’s a bit of citrus to it, but also that peppery aspect from the aroma. Neat beer from St.G. (#2955, 6/3/2007)
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 nearbeer (3048) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 1, 2008
UPDATED: OCT 4, 2009 650 ml. Clear burnt orange with a small but lasting creamy head. Aroma is initially banana nut bread, but is overtaken by light cinnamon, caramel and a hint of cabbage. Flavor starts as spicy banana nut bread, but after three gulps turns to peppery apple and toffee, becoming nicely bittered at the end with peppery wood tones. Big malt backing makes follow-on sips initially flavorful orange-grapefruit with honey, turning to resin and peppery wood. Great long finish of banana nut and peppery oak in perfect harmony. Light-medium body is extremely soft and smooth with a nice dry finish. Excellent balance in this unique and complex take on an IPA.

Tap at BP Old Towne. Big soapy, pine, orange, grapefruit hop tones. Clean golden malt body. Rather straightforward IPA, but really well executed. Mellow tropical fruit tones.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jgb9348 (3964) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - SEP 25, 2007
Nice deep hazy golden coloured body with an orange glow and a very small off-white head with trillions of bubbles rising from the bottom of the bottle. Aroma of strong hops, a nice malty touch, light lemons and a citrus twang that sticks up well. Medium to Full-bodied; A hoppy first sip with definite malt to back it up. Lemons and lingering metallic bitterness follows on the palate. Aftertaste shows a good maltiness, but the hoppiness (which everyone should be drinking this one for) shows stronger - very nice. Overall, a good beer that really took me off-guard. I do like a lot of St. George’s beers, but this was really good in my opinion. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Kevin at Grape & Gourmet in Virginia Beach, Virginia on 25-September-2007.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hayduke (2933) - Eureka, California, USA - OCT 10, 2011
This 22 oz bottle was courtesy of Strykzone. Pours a color between orange and amber with a good sized light-beige head that left good lacing rings. Nose shows some nice ripe fruit, such as pear and grapefruit. Body is medium and the mouthfeel is creamy any easy to swallow. The flavor is well balanced between the caramel malts and some floral and citrus hops tastes and nice bitterness. The finish is bitter and flavorful. A very well crafted and easy drinking IPA.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Hazmatt (363) - Virginia, USA - AUG 14, 2007
Bottle. Golden with a decent head. Spicy hop aroma with a hint of citrus and pine. A dry beer with tongue stripping acidity, but with enough malt backbone and residual sweetness to make it a good beer.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 merlin48 (656) - Jenkins, Kentucky, USA - SEP 5, 2010
22 ounce bottle found at Pappy’s Beer Store near Ewing, Virginia. Pours a hazy orange amber body with a medium sized beige head that retains well and scatters some attractive sticky lace. Aroma has soft fruity tones of apricot, pink grapefruit, and ripe pears, with some herbal and grassy hops and buttered caramel. Medium body and carbonation has a nice creaminess, Taste is well balanced and a bit sweet for style. Grassy and herbal hops have a solid bitterness but sweet buttery caramel and a faint hint of chocolate malt add a balancing sweetness. Fruity pink grapefruit and apricot notes add a nice touch. Still, hop-centric as per style yet very tasty and well balanced. Really enjoyed this bomber.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 alexanderj (3053) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - APR 30, 2007
Bottle; Told that they just got it in. Poured an brownish orange, creamy medium white head. Aroma of citrus and floral hops, some toffee malt and a little earthy/metallic. Good creamy mouthfeel; flavor was not outstanding for the style, but it did have some really good malt highlighted with some hop finish. NOt the greatest or most powerful hop presence, mabye a little light for the style. However, really enjoyed this and may be overating a bit, just because its a local brand.
