4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 cmt (12) - USA - FEB 22, 2006
After reading these reviews, its hard to imagine you are drnking the same beer. This is a non-pasturized product and I too got a sour 6 pack last year.
This is my favorite Olde Towne Beer...been drinking it since the brewery opened. The recipe moved around a bit at first, but settled in last spring.
Nice clear amber/brown color, malty, a little hops, overall a very smooth, easy to drink beer, with little to no aftertaste. You guys need to try this one again...fresh...not after planes, trains and automobiles.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 leitrim65 (402) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 20, 2006
Dark amber in color with a small white head. Sweet aroma of raisins with a touch of roasted nuts, alcohol, and malt. Watery, a little fizzy, and quite flavorful - just not well balanced. A mish mash of strong raisiny flavors are accompanied by notes of caramel, malt, and roated nuts. One of the oddest ambers I’ve ever tasted.
1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (4035) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 31, 2006
UPDATED: JUN 29, 2006 This beer came to me in my beer club. I have never heard of the brewer before. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a chestnut color with a small white head. The aroma is sour tangy vinegar. The flavor is bitter vinegar. I should assume that I had an infected bottle. Otherwise this can only be considered crap.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 MrManning (1982) - Hamilton, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 31, 2006
Bottle via beerandblues2, thanks brad, for this and a new state for me! Dark amber/copper head, with thin beige ring of head. Malted sour grape aroma. Not that great, but not offensive. Cardboard too. Sweet skunky malt flavours, with a sourish flavour. Strange. Fizzy finish, weird cause there was no head. Thanks brad!
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 frankenkitty (1958) - Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA - JAN 29, 2006
Closer to copper than amber in appearance with a short & fizzy, off-white head. The only words I can muster for the aroma are "weak" and "sour". A flat and sour flavor/presence conclude this unimpressive tasting.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 chadzter (94) - huntsville, Alabama, USA - JAN 12, 2006
12oz bottle. Deep dark amber color with a rich malt aroma. It carries a nice sweet taste of the malt with a carmel and little hint grain finishing it. For some reason I just really like this one.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 HumuloneRed (751) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 9, 2006
12 oz. bottle from the Beer of the Month Club. Pours murky dark red with a tan head and no lacing. Very malty nose with some sweet corn notes. Very sweet malt flavor with no balancing hops. Not that well made.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 dkoonce (905) - People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA - JAN 6, 2006
Bottle. Hazy deep amber color with a thin head. Has a fruity aroma with a slight vinegar aroma. Very heavy and malty, almost too sickly sweet.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Drew0772 (3) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - NOV 22, 2005 does not count
not bad at all.. Huntsville is an up and coming city with an up and coming brewery.. they offer draft versio9ns of these at a local joint called Sazios.. a great watering hole.. especially after a hot summer day in North Alabama.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 OhioDad (2493) - Hilliard, Ohio, USA - NOV 15, 2005
12 oz bottle via trade with beerandblues2 - Thanks Brad! - Pours copper with a short offwhite head that fades pretty quick. Aroma is caramel malts and a touch of brown sugar. Flavor is sweet caramel malts, a bit of honey and brown sugar. Palate is thin and somewhat watery. Somewhat below average mostly because of the palate.
