12 oz bottle from an old trade. Pours a translucent amber-brown color with a small beige head that soon recedes to a fine ring. The aroma is moderate in strength with sweet roasted malts and some burnt molasses. The flavor is sweet roasted malts, caramel, brown sugar and a hint of molasses. The palate is thin and watery and the carbonation almost flat. The finish is medium in duration with lingering saccharine. Overall: This was supposedly an old bottle and I promised not to rate it, but its been over a year and still no replacement, so what the hell. Maybe someday I’ll get a known fresh sample, and then I’ll be happy to re-rate this. But if you ask me, it wasn’t half bad, only the palate was really poor. Cheers to the Alabama tick.

Bottle Pours a good amber with a thin tan head. The head leaves quicly and laces poorly. The aroma is malty with hints of bread, and floral. The carbonation is okay. The flavor is sweet and sugary. Has a watery texture. The finish is mild and the aftertaste is way too sweet. Not the greatest beer I have had.

Tap @ the 1st Annual Rocket City Brewfest. 08 may 09. Pale Bock. Clear amber color. Light aroma of malts. Flavor is a nice bready, toasted malt. Very bready character. Light bodied, full flavored. Nice pale bock.

12oz Bottle. Aroma presents wet pretzels, old alcohol and slightly stale beer. Pours a thick, thick clouded pale orange-gold. Flavor is a past prime pilsener malt, touched with some salty caramel sugars. Slight sugariness and faint alcohols. Not much great flavor. Cursory Alabama tick. Thanks Sean!

Courtesy of Quake1028. It pours a nice clear copper with thin off white head. Wow, the aroma smells like rose pedals and not a whole lot more. The taste is mild with roasty and sweet malts mixed with a load of flower pedals and vague sugar sweetness. I don’t know how this is a Heller Bock. The experience didn’t work for me.

Thanks to unclejedi for the bottle. Light brown body, small dirty head and no lacing. Average looking beer. Very perfumey and flowery on the nose, along white white vinegar and sweet fleshy fruits. Flavor is similar, way to much perfume sweetness. Bordering on offensive. No real bock characteristics in the nose or flavor. Could be an old bottle. Light bodied, watery edges and finish, which is very abrupt. Forgettable at best.
