Looks very similar to their amber, but tastes very different. A slighty sweet, very easy to drink beer. egore (4), Madison, Alabama, USA does not count | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 7, 2007 This beer is better than earlier offerings.
Low amber color with nice head retention. Malty flavor with good overall ballance. Earlier versions were somewhat fruity with a tad of diacetyl. Definitly better that what I tasted earlier. aracauna (2427), Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 8, 2006 Pours a slightly hazed caramelized sugar brown. The head quickly fades to a bubble ring. The aroma is rich maltiness with wood and caramel, slight touch of corn. The flavor is light but sweet, a warm sweetness spreads over the tongue in the finish. Definitely not dry, but I personally really like this one. Definitely lacks the brewing flaws of batches reviewed by earlier raters. Thanks brentfeesh. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 3, 2009 12oz Bottle. Aroma presents wet pretzels, old alcohol and slightly stale beer. Pours a thick, thick clouded pale orange-gold. Flavor is a past prime pilsener malt, touched with some salty caramel sugars. Slight sugariness and faint alcohols. Not much great flavor. Cursory Alabama tick. Thanks Sean! brentfeesh (1042), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 16, 2006 12 oz bottle. After reading the other reviews, I would have to say I am rating the first uncontaminated bottle...Not surprising as they have reportedly had many difficulites with their distibution process after start up. But, it seems they are getting a handle on it as this beer was drinkable. Golden maple pour with light carbonation. Clear. Smells like sweet cinnamon candy and malt. Unexpected. The flavor is malty with raison and prune hints. Light sweetness and a faint spicy finish. Good carbonation level, lightly creamy medium body. A fair beverage with nothing particularly wrong with it. Just not my favorite style. mcclenw (36), Stevenson, Alabama, USA

Poured a very nice color, really smooth, a hint of a citrus mix although. All in all this is a pretty good beer from Olde Towne, however it is still not as good as the seasonal Porter they offer. bu11zeye (5731), Frisco, Texas, USA

Aroma of caramel, cocoa, and cereal. Flavor of caramel, citrus, nuts, maple, and nutmeg (very sweet). BeerandBlues2 (3237), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA

Pours deep copper and amber with a small patchy off-white head that is mostly diminishing and leaves some lined lacing. Aroma is malt (grain, cereal, meal), caramel notes and yeast (dark bread, sweat) with toffee notes and faint DMS, butter. Initially sweet, slightly acidic caramel, toffee malt that finishes yeasty with butterscotch notes and nutty throughout. Medium bodied with a creamy feel and a fizzy finish.
