Handpump at The Plough, Greetham, Rutland. Excellent condition. Pale amber with white head. I am not too keen on some pale bitters but this was well balanced with a clean hoppy finish with some citrus notes.

Cask, gravity dispense at Wellington Arms Beer Festival ’07, Bedford. Dark gold. Slight floral hop aroma. Stunning citric taste. Mid bitter finish. Wonderful, tasty session beer. Drink it all night.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Bedford BF. An orange coloured beer quite bright and looking like irn bru. The aroma has lovely US hops, with tangerines and oranges. The taste has more good hoppiness with citrus orange fruits. Very tasty and easy to drink. (7,4,8,3,14(3.6))

Re-rate

Tried again on handpump. This time it was very ordinary. Merely a hint of hop, and alittle sulphur note in the nose. Certainly no sign of any US hops. Very ordinary. I wonder why? (5,3,5,3,10(2.6))

Score is an average of the two

Cask (gravity dispense). Beer #8 at Bedford Beer Festival 2005. Copper/gold colour. Flowery aroma with a touch of sulphur. Clean and fresh, juicy but quite dry, with a good hit of bitterness on the finish. An excellent quaffing ale, served in tip top condition.
