A sublimely moreish gold-tinted amber ale. Delta and Cascade hops add a zesty, fruity edge to a softly nutty base. A very fine session ale.

Previously bittered with Challenger and late hopped with Ahtanum and Cascade.

Cask at the Old Windmill, Coventry on 28th October 2008, guest beer. Flavoursome for its strength, satisfyingly rounded and a good balance of hop and malt is maintained until the finish where malt begins to dominate. Clean and satisfying.

A typical festival beer - this is a straw coloured pleasnt brew that is very quaffable.

Cask (gravity dispense). Beer #8 at Bedford Beer Festival 2005. Copper/gold colour. Flowery aroma with a touch of sulphur. Clean and fresh, juicy but quite dry, with a good hit of bitterness on the finish. An excellent quaffing ale, served in tip top condition.

Handpump at The Plough, Greetham, Rutland. Excellent condition. Pale amber with white head. I am not too keen on some pale bitters but this was well balanced with a clean hoppy finish with some citrus notes.

Cask - The White Lion, Norwich. Pours a golden orange colour with a pencil thin bubbly white head. Notes of lemon and orange on the nose, with some floral tones. Juicy fruity flavours: orange again, combined with a tangy dryness in the finish. Good length bitterness, low carbonation and a medium body (for a golden).

(Cask at Lion Tavern, Liverpool, 21 July 2009) Pale amber colour with creamy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with dried apricots, orange and dusty hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of apricots, biscuity malt, toast and a gentle bitterness in the finish. Rather light body. Decent but not really exciting.

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2007 Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Bedford BF. An orange coloured beer quite bright and looking like irn bru. The aroma has lovely US hops, with tangerines and oranges. The taste has more good hoppiness with citrus orange fruits. Very tasty and easy to drink. (7,4,8,3,14(3.6))

Tried again on handpump. This time it was very ordinary. Merely a hint of hop, and alittle sulphur note in the nose. Certainly no sign of any US hops. Very ordinary. I wonder why? (5,3,5,3,10(2.6))
