COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A malty and easy drinkable barleywine with notes of caramel, chocolate, baked chestnuts and discrete hopping. The beer has been matured for several months before release providing it with a soft character. Of course unfiltered, unpasteurized and refermented in the bottle like all of our beers.

(Bottle) Pours dark reddish brown with a small nougat coloured head. The aroma holds caramel, leather, raisins, earth, cheese, liqueur, madeira wine, resin, tobacco/cigar and black tea. Fantastic nose – deep, complex, elegant and mature. The flavour is light sweet and light to medium bitter. Dry caramel, resin, resinous hops, leather, dark chocolate and madeira wine. The mouthfeel is flat, and light tart with almost no carbonation. Dry fudge, light wood astringent and bit bitter on the finish. Medium bodied.

Cloudy brown beer. Semi soft and semi dry palate. Deep rich malt - slightly creamy. A little spicy aniseed in the finish. Not that complex but pleasant and fresh tasting.

9/10/11/12/11/11

RBESG 2010. Hazy copper colour with creamy off-white head. Fiery almondy aroma along with piney hops and sweet heavy maltiness. Classic Barley Wine profile in flavour with heavy maltiness and almond paste. Really deep malt sensation, perfect sweetness and nicely fiery. Hops play in well and the fiery alcohol does just add to the experience. A full-bodied beer. One of the best at the grand tasting.

This cloudy, orangey brown pour with light carbonation had an aroma of sweet malts and piney hops. The flavor was rusty and sweet and had a soapy hop character.

Swingtop bottle. Thanks a lot Theis!! The beer pours hazy deep amber with a creamy off white head. The aroma is very fruity, light hoppy, sweet caramel, light chocolate and prune. The flavour is light spicy, heavy malty, sweet caramel, raisins, canded sugar and light warming alcohol. Very good!
