Bottle: Cloudy, small persistent foamy layer; sourish bretty-fruity nose with a light caramelly-almondy background; moderate to solid sourish-bitter flavour, medium bodied; caramelly-sourish finish with unripe apples in the aftertaste. Complex, but not very satisfying.........

Acidic mouth, med body, mod carb.

I quite like this, it reminds me of a few years old Rodenbach Grand Cru although a few notches below.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUN 6, 2009 Bottle received from Sahlholdt. Pours dark brown with a small, rocky, off-white head, diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is average malt (straw, cookie), light hop (herbs, grass), heavy yeast (horse blanket, barnyard) with notes of cherries, medicine, and all the funky Brett notes. Medium bodied, thin texture, average carbonation, and a sour finish. Long duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and sourness.

Bottle: Thanks puzzl! Pours a muddy dark purple maroon with thick tan head. Tannic nose- mild acetic notes, tannic fruit skin and light oak with a touch of cherry/sweet almond. Fluffy feel, with a rustic flavor. Dried cocoa flakes, mild oak, some acetic notes and tannic qualities. Not very complex, but solid.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Papsoe, huge thanks for this one. Full cherry and rubber aroma with fleeting signs of wonderful lambic. It is so close, but doesn’t quite make it, but this is definitely the closest I’ve ever tasted to legitimate lambic from a non-lambic maker (as opposed to a more general sour ale, which tends to have a pretty different sour profile). Flavor has that lambic tartness, though not as much so, a touch of cherry, peanut and cheese. Distressingly close to awesome.

Thanks to Puzzl. Poured a murky pink-brown color with an off-white head. Nice tart aroma with some earthy leather notes, Light cherry and a touch of metal make up the rest of the aroma. Mildlt tart with some light cherry notes. Touch of acidic bite to it. Light bodied and a clean finish.

Big thanks to Puzzl for sharing yet another rare gem from his International trades. I think this one came via Papsoe. Pours a muddy brown with a thin head and ok to slight carbonation. Sharp spicy aceto character in the nose with some phenolic medicinal like cherry spice going on- almond like as well which reminds me overall of that swedish drink- mulled spiced wine with raisins and almonds (forget the name). Cherry puree in the flavor like the oregon canned puree you get at the homebrew store- cherry pits and dark skin tannic astringency but not thin or too harsh - the sweetness is still there and there is a yeasty doughy muddling that goes on throughout. Prickly acetic acid in the end cut through what is left of the sweetness in the end and makes it a nice bruin.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Many thanks to puzzl for sharing this - very hazy amber pour - no head - a lot of earthy cherry in the aroma, some wintery spiciness, doughy and nutty character - very earthy and dry, with loads of sour cherry skin flavor - a bit briny through the middle, but cherry tartness persists throughout - a wee bit funky, especially through the finish - quite nice.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared by puzzl. Pours a cloudy muddy brown. Pleasant aroma of mildly sour cherries along with a bit of mustiness. The sour cherry in the flavor is lovely with some earthiness and very little of the musty characteristic in the aroma. I sometimes have a problem with sour beers, particularly those that are overly sour. This one is spot on for my tastes and very enjoyable. Thanks for sharing, Andy!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep brown-amber beer. Aroma is quite cherryish and fruity. Nice sweet cherry aroma. Fruity with a very light wildness. Rich vineous aroma behind the lovely cherry fruitiness. There is a bit of raspberry character in here as well... a soft spiciness from the pits and skins. Sourness is very soft and understated, but this beer is quite delicious.
