There are Imperial Stouts, Imperial IPA and even Imperial Red ales. They are all stronger and hoppier versions of regular beer styles. Our bestselling beer at Ølfabrikken is Ølfabrikken Cream Ale. We have decided to pay tribute to our little cash-cow by making an "imperial" version of it. Ølfabrikken Cream Ale is 8% alcohol and 100+ IBUs. As its smaller brother it is characterized by great mouth feel, soft carbonation and great balance between sweetness and bitterness as a result of the 6 month maturation period. Enjoy it with strong soft cheese. Only 1240 bottles has been produced. Of course unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers.

Flip top (brewed in July 2006)
Murky orange color, small white head. Aroma of cheese, caramel and grass. Medium bodied. Tart wineous palate. Hops, alcohol, some cellary notes, caramel, fudge. Probably a bit past its prime, still quite powerful.

Bottled (from Estate Wine). Amber colour, small head. Aroma is oxidized, mild sweet maltyness, some slight herbal notes as well. Flavour is oxidized, sweet malty along with grass and some grains. Mild cardboardy notes as well. Quite parfumeish.

50cl bottle, trade with sunevdk - thanks a lot for getting me this doubly retired beer. best before aug.1.2007, rated mar.16.2009. brewed jul.16.2006. Still, the beer seems to be fine, both aroma and flavor is great. it has developed into a barley wine with a well balanced flavor and aroma profile. cloudy orange, small thick offwhite head. hoppy, citrussy aroma. faint eggs, faint orange. flavor is piny, milk chocolate, caramel, slight grapefruity, slight cardboard. a very dry beer. Thanks again sune for letting me have this one. (he got a brøckhouse epic stout)

(50 cl bottle, thanks larsniclas!) Shady copper color with some particles, white head. Sweet, fruity and some alcohol scent, apricots and caramelized apples. Taste is smoke and a lerge bitterness. Like biting into a grape fruit, but minus the citrus parts. Very high hop bitterness, over the top for my delicate taste ;-) Medium mouthfeel, surprisingly light for the high alcohol. Lon gbitter finish.

A Mes rate: 75cl Bottle at Chris O’s Fukito tasting.
Pale yellow with a good white head and lace and lots of heavy floaters. peachy and spicy with lots of full on grassy hops, lychee and a lick of cream. Yeast, pine / sprucey notes. Heavy bitterness as you would expect from 100 IBUs. Jolly good stuff.
