Can from Copenhagen. Sweet malt aroma. Flavour: sugar, some spice, yeast. Not very pleasant, I don’t know what they tried to do with this. Withous tyhe yeast it would have been a standard Danish macro Christmas brew.

330ml dåseøl purchased at an Irma store in Copenhagen. Pours a fluffy white head atop of a clear, amber body. Fragile lacing to the glass. Smell of sweet pale malts with a touch of almond. Sweet malty flavour along with dried fruits and notes of herbal hops Foamy in the mouth. Very average (hotel room, 14.11.2010).

Rating #446, can from Fakta
This does not by any means live up to the standard of the earlier Ølfabrikken Jule Ale, and has nothing to do with the earlier brew. This is a standard copper coloured beer with a medium head. The aroma is the best thing about this beer. It has some elderflowers and roses, but this is weird as it doesn’t fit the rest of this beer’s characteristics. Plain and boring flavor of yeast and sugary water, but not directly bad. No aftertaste at all and no bitterness in the finish. Thin. There is nothing belgian about this ale, except for the obvious presence of yeast in the flavor. I feel I have rated this too high compared to how I remember it and what it deserves, but I must follow my notes...

Can. 2009. A clear, golden beer topped by a small, off-white head. Grains, caramel and yellow apples in the aroma. The flavor is sweet, caramel and fruity sweetness, some hints of banana. Short bitter finish. Medium body with appropriate co2 level. Overall, quite dull. Like a euro-lager with a touch of Belgium. 100407

Can at ChrisO’s pre-GBBF tasting, 1st Aug 09. Very clear mid amber with a little bit of head. Flat, bland taste - bready malt, not much hops. Dull and very poor coming from this brewery.

Can. A hazy red beer with a nice off-white head. The aroma has notes of spices - among them coriander, malt, and fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and quite a lot of fruit as well as some spices - among them coriander, leading to a dry spicy finish. The body is a bit light.

Bottle. Poured a golden amber with an off-white head. Aroma had a bit of spice but mainly sweet malts. Flavor was quite sweet from the malts and there was not much else to it. A bit thin for a xmas beer.
