COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Pour is hazy reddish with off white head, aroma has notes of cough syrup, some slight slight sour cherry pit, some slight biscuit, toffee, but really a lot of medicinal cherry. Taste is really harsh medicine with some sour cherry, I tasted this and shivers went down my spine and I couldn’t drink any more. Tastes like gross cherry, cough syrup, touch of biscuit, finishes with more cherry.

shared by Solan, bottle was 3 yrs old. Caramel malts on those with some slight oxidation. Pours caramel amber with a very thin head. Slightly oxidative flavors but still really nice, caramel malts with bread and sweet raisins. This beer finished really dry and made it very enjoyable.

Etwas alkoholischer, deutlich fruchtiger Geruch. Test vom 23.2.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,12,11,10,7,11 - 10,90

Made with cherry juice and licorice root. Cloudy red-brown beer with a thickish biscuit coloured head. Smooth palate, very mild carbonation. An odd mixture of cherry, spicy licorice and hop. A sweet bitter rich and confused beer! Quite drinkable though!

Bottle... Poured brownish with a beige head. Lots of herbal notes, spices, root-like, and great cherry presence all on the nose. A tad dry from the yeasty tones. Some decent cherry flavors that played a little medicinal. Also honey, malt sweetness, anise, and an acidic, slightly tart yeast flavor.

From notes: This c&g bottle opened with a loud pop and poured a very dark ruby/chestnut color with mahogany edges when held to a light source. Two finger frothy tan head with decent retention, slowly fading into a lasting ring that leaves sporadic hunks of lacing behind. Spicy peppery aroma with hints of clove, cinnamon and dark fruit. Hints of grape, dark berry, raisin and fog and well as a slightly medical cough syrup character. Tight carbonation up front with a surprisingly full medium body, sweet and spicy flavor and slightly bitter dry finish. Lots of spicy notes, especially pepper, cinnamon and clove balanced by a nice malt backbone and sweet dark fruit presence. Hints of dark cherry, raisin, fig and plum. Well balanced and that medical flavor that I find so unpleasant in Xmas beers is kept to a minimum.
