COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Draught. Pours a nice hazy dark brown colour. The aroma is sweet with caramel, softly roasted malt, some spices and fruits. Good mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet with roasted malt, spices, fruits, bit of chocolate and anise. Long lasting roasty and spiced finish. Good brew!

Draught at Plan B, Copenhagen. Thanks to Jacob. Amber color, offwhite head. Great malty, creamy aroma, vinous, with figs and milk notes. Malty, vinous flavor, figs, raisins, milky, sweetish. Quite malty, but such a lovely beer if you ask me...

Draught. Reddish brown coloured. Murky. Dense off white head. Sweet and fruity aroma in the light end. Flavour is light fruity and gives me some sourish impressions. Light to medium bodied. Ends on a light bitter note. I’m a bit unimpressed. Have to revisit this.

Maria (10136) - Thisted, DENMARK - FEB 1, 2007
Ølfestival Horsens 2006. Dark brown, hazy with notes of roasted malt, caramel and fruit in the aroma. The flavour is sweet and smooth with nice notes of cherries, caramel, syrup and a nice bitterness, that is a perfect counterweight to the sweetness. A really nice Christmas beer. 1665

Corked bottle. Dark brown color, thick creamy head. Malt, cinnamon and brown sugar in the aroma. Thick and warming mouthfeel. Malty sweet, spicy flavor with hints of red berries, cinnamon, tangerine and cherry. Licorice, especially in the aftertaste. Full bodied, just a bit alcoholic. Solid winter beer.

80 deibel cork pop, but fortunately no gusher. Very dark maroon color, medium tan fine bubble head that lasts forever; delicate lacing. Aroma of dark fruits and caramel, and evident alcohol. Flavor begins with ripe cherries and dates, and a bit of nutmeg. Lots of malt. Nicely complex and interesting. Excellent body. Delicious winter brew.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a huge, frothy, light brown head, mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, nutty), average hop (perfume, grass), heavy yeast (horse blanket, barnyard, earth) with notes of bananas, plum, raisins, port, oak, and apples. Full bodied, creamy texture, lively carbonation, and a metallic finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

hopscotch (9038) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 17, 2008
Bottle… Clear dark ale (orange, when held up to the Florida sun) with a huge, frothy, khaki head that diminishes to an eternal, small, tight, creamy cap. The aroma offers a complex mélange of licorice root, sorghum molasses, praline, dark fruits, mint and sarsaparilla. Medium-bodied and creamy with trace carbonation. Sweet, spicy flavor. Dark fruits and caramel abound alongside a suggestion of mocha and a rumor of acidity. Sweet, tangy, and then dry finish.

From Premiere Gourmet. Amberish red cherry coloured body with lasting white foam. Aroma is root beer and cherry and yeast. Very full mouthfeel, this is a sipper. Taste is incredibly complex with licorice, cheery that builds. Other spices in the background.
