COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

750ml bottle from Binny’s Beverage Depot in Plainfield, IL. It has a hazy brown body with a tall, pale tan head that provides plenty of lace. It has a rich, dark caramel aroma, plenty of spices, and a sour cherry tartness. Medium bodied yet creamy in the mouth. The flavor had plenty of spicy caramel with alcohol, tart cherries, unripe plums, and more alcohol. All blended together nicely and a good time was had by all... I mean, me.

Bottle, bottled aug 2007. Very spicy aroma: Caramel, brown sugar, orangepeel, fennel, belgian yeast notes. Hazy red, rocky golden foam, lacing and with staying power. Roasted sugar entry, cherries, light flowery notes, light grassyness. Medium to light body, seems to have lost some chewyness, probably more potent now. Dry sparkly mouthfeel. Citrus, cherry and roasted sugar retronasal, licorice on the tongue afterwards..

(750ml bottle 2008 vintage thanks to Exiled) hazy medium brown, soapy edges have khaki-colored bubbles. Nose of licorice, cherry, Belgian yeast, cinnamon, nutmeg. Taste of candi sugar, licorice, anise, metallic, earthy, pipe tobacco, sour cherry as it warms, and a well-hidden alcohol presence. Complex and dry finish, very carbonated.
