COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A pale wort made from British Maris Otter is boiled for 12 hours to provide Ølfabrikken Oakwine with an deep sweet caramel flavor. The fermentation is based on our Vinter Ale and done with both an American and Belgian yeast, which together with Simcoe hops, present itself with a strong fruity aroma of apples and kaki. A long maturation on oak provides notes of vanilla.
Ølfabrikken Oakwine is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and cask conditioned like all of our beers. Only available on tap.

Hugely aromatic and a darkish treat to look at, things get even better when you dig in. As you swill this prime beverage from hoppy-happy Ølfabrikken, you discover, to my taste, probably the most complex beer to come out of that brewery. Rich, long, extravagant notes of farmhouse goodies, with mercifully reduced hop levels. Feels like the factory is growing up.

On tap at "Plan B", Copenhagen. I like the oak and vanilla better here than in the Oaked Stout. Fine aroma with lots of hops and vanilla. The sweet vanilla is nicely balanced by a dry, bitter finish. Another great experiment from the guys at Ølfabrikken.

Keg @ Ölbaren, Copenhagen
Dark reddish brown with a small head. Slightly hazy and a sweet buttery aroma. Some oak character is along in some odd, maybe Irish whisky way. Sharp and some cheap chocolate notes to smooth that out. Not a very complex beer and very sweet in the long run.

Draft at Ølbaren, Cph. Huge nose of winegum, sweet candy and some notes of oak. Unclear dark brown body with a ruby tint, medium sized off-white head. Flavor of sweet candy, light woody, very sticky flavor and mouthfeel.
