Dixen (1465), Copenhagen, Denmark Mar 15, 2006 Draft at Ølbaren, Cph. Huge nose of winegum, sweet candy and some notes of oak. Unclear dark brown body with a ruby tint, medium sized off-white head. Flavor of sweet candy, light woody, very sticky flavor and mouthfeel.
bu11zeye (3887), Frisco, Texas, USA Nov 18, 2008 (50cl bottle) Pours a hazy brown body with virtually no head. Aroma of cedar, cherry, citrus, florals, toasted bread, vanilla, and light chocolate. Flavor of wood, caramel malt, cherry, and raisins with a dry, bitter finish. Fin (2451), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Oct 22, 2008 Bottle kindly passed to me by Kim Johannson in a beer swap at the EBF, Kobenhaven Sept 08 consumed 22-10-08 cheers Kim Pours murky puddle water colour with no head. Hops on nose but they are having to compete with wood, vanilla and spirit. Taste is big woody, some nice vanilla and bourbon, its a little bit buttery at times also, hops become more and more noticeable and pronounced as you get through through it and take the edge of the slighty sweet brown sugaryness that shows. I quite liked this. mar (754), Dallas, Texas, USA Oct 19, 2008 swingtop bottle thanks to bu11zeye. murky amber pour with no head. vanilla, toffee, malts, molasses and oak on the nose. no carbonation but a great vanilla and toffee flavor. smooth finish with the alcohol being well hidden. BMan1113VR (1150), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Oct 19, 2008 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with no head, and a thick, hazy amber body with decent alcohol legs. Aroma of oak, burboun, raisins, vanilla, light hops (distinctly simcoe), and brown sugar. Aroma is right up my alley, and very good. Taste, is brown sugar, maple syrup, raisins, caramel, vanilla and alcohol (although it is decently well hidden). Very syrupy, and like wine, with practically no carbonation at all. Theis (2457), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 14, 2008 Bottle at Jannik. Clear orange - no head. Wood, dry oaked, sweetness, rather high hoppy, bitterness, caramel, citrus, toasted, dark fruits. Very nice.
