COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A pale wort made from British Maris Otter is boiled for 12 hours to provide Ølfabrikken Oakwine with an deep sweet caramel flavor. The fermentation is based on our Vinter Ale and done with both an American and Belgian yeast, which together with Simcoe hops, present itself with a strong fruity aroma of apples and kaki. A long maturation on oak provides notes of vanilla.
Ølfabrikken Oakwine is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and cask conditioned like all of our beers. Only available on tap.

Draught at Ølbaren. Hazy dark brown coloured. Aroma of exotic fruits, apples and Hubba Bubba with notes of milk chocolate and wood. Fairly sweet flavour of exotic fruits, hops, pine needles, vanilla and some caramel with a dry and juicy lingering hop bitter finish. Smooth and chewy mouthfeel. Full bodied. Perfectly balanced. Draught at Ølbaren: Unclear, mud coloured appearance. Citrus, peach aroma. Flavour is very warming and quite sweet. Some wood and brown sugar notes. Finish is warming and quite bitter. The beer is very well-balanced because bitterness and sweetness are balanced to perfection. Great enjoyable beer.

Hugely aromatic and a darkish treat to look at, things get even better when you dig in. As you swill this prime beverage from hoppy-happy Ølfabrikken, you discover, to my taste, probably the most complex beer to come out of that brewery. Rich, long, extravagant notes of farmhouse goodies, with mercifully reduced hop levels. Feels like the factory is growing up.

500 ml bottle thanks to janka. Lighter than I had expected. Light brownish ruby color. Nice head though. Aromas are outstanding. Peach and apricot. Sweet fruit. Sugar cane, and a touch of molassas. Flavor fell off a bit. Oak and vanilla up front, then Some fruit still there, but not as sweet as the aroma. More hoppy and very bitter in the finish. Mouthfeel was thinner than i like in a BW as well. Still very good.
