Poured dark brown/black, with a smallish light brown head. Smelled of huge hershey’s chocolate, my mouth instantly watered. Milky and creamy dark malts helped balance a little but this baby was all chocolate. The flavor was much the same, it was really a hersheys chooclate beer. being a hug chocolat nut, i loved every minute of it. Very similar to ST Choklat in my opinion. Sweet, sticky finish left me wanting more. Money in the bank!

I’m not sure the year on this one, but it held up really well. This one pours a very dark brown almost black color that shows barely any light through. A small and foamy tan colored head tops the body that leaves some brown wash behind on the glass. The aroma is very rich showing rich dark and milk chocolates that is very smooth to go with toasted caramel, roasted malts, and some earthy hops for bitterness. The flavor follows with the rich and decadent milk and dark chocolates melding together beautifully along with some roasty characters, and the earthy hops lending great balance on the backend. The chocolate is so smooth and creamy with just a fantastic flavor. Full bodied, smooth and creamy that finishes with a lengthy chocolate finish that begs you to keep drinking. This is an awesome chocolate stout, and I am so glad I got the chance to try it. daknole (3050), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 19, 2009 Swingtop bottle, courtesy Cheeseman. At least 2 years old, probably more. The pour yields a nearly opaque, dark mahogany brown body that shows almost black. A small, foamy, dark tan head leaves some dense brown staining on the glass, along with some minimal spotting. The aroma is based in ultra rich dark and milk chocolates, smooth and creamy as can be, with notes of scorched caramel, hints of roast, and some residual, earthy hoppiness. Flavors are just as decadent and smooth, again showing luxurious chocolate, soft roast, and just a faint touch of lactose. The remaining hops lend near perfect balance to the sweet chocolate. A big, creamy body is velvety, each sip begging the next, while a hint of residual grassiness comes through on the finish. Excellent stuff. This not only held up well over time, it is one of the best chocolate stouts I’ve ever had.
