COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Has also been brewed at Bryggeriet S.C. Fuglsang and Nøgne Ø in Grimstad, Norway
Introduced at ’Fynske Øldage’ 2005.

English: A dark and rich porter inspired by the Baltic porters traditionally made in Scandinavia. Roasted without being burned or bitter, with the flavor dominated by dried fruits and vinous notes. High amounts of residual sugars and a fruity aroma makes this beer the perfect companion for chocolate desserts, if served lightly chilled. Brewed on Maris Otter ale malt, British Brown Malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley, two types of caramel malt and brown sugar.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2008 On tap. Pours dark brown with a brown head (the darkest I´ve seen) Medium sweetness and high bitterness. Aromas of rich dark chocolate some coffee and a hint of vanilla. Never had a beer with such richness and fullness. Full bodied. Low CO2. Bitter chocolately finish with a hint of cigar smoke. Very nice.

Draft @ Ølbaren, Cph. Very roasty aroma, as it opens the aroma reveals a very nice fruityness with some underlying yeast, notes of espresso and bitter chocolate. Jet black body with huge and rocky dark tan head. Lots of sweetness in the flavor, yet very roasty, very fruity for a porter, notes of coffee, ends in a lingering and pleasant bitterness. Leaves the palate quite dry. Excellent beer!

(Draft at Fynske Øldage) Gorgeous opaque black with a brown creamy head. Both aroma and flavor are excellent: Black liquorice and coffee. Lingers in the mouth forever. If I could only drink one porter I might pick this.
