Editor’s note: Has also been brewed at Bryggeriet S.C. Fuglsang and Nøgne Ø in Grimstad, Norway
Introduced at ’Fynske Øldage’ 2005.

English: A dark and rich porter inspired by the Baltic porters traditionally made in Scandinavia. Roasted without being burned or bitter, with the flavor dominated by dried fruits and vinous notes. High amounts of residual sugars and a fruity aroma makes this beer the perfect companion for chocolate desserts, if served lightly chilled. Brewed on Maris Otter ale malt, British Brown Malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley, two types of caramel malt and brown sugar.

2008 bottle , nose is funky and with sour notes. First sip is sour with a horrible bit. Rotting vegetable like finish. This bottle was way past prime.

Bottle. Brown pour with tan head. Roasted malt aromas. Dark bitter roasted malts, brewer’s liqourice, better coffee. A little disappointing after all the hype..

Bottle, best before 08. Pours a pitch black color with a frothy tan head. Aroma is of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, alot of portwine vinous notes, dark fruits, liqourice and a touch of alcohol and smoked notes. The flavor is also very vinous with loads of portwine notes, along with coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, liqourice, light smoke and dried dark fruits. The body is medium with a dry mouthfeel. Overall a pretty solid beer, but the flavors are much more toned down in this older bottle. Fresher bottles/cans are much better, unfortunately its been a while since this beer has been brewed... Back in the day this was my favorite Baltic Porter.

Bottle thanks to Papsoe. Best before 2008. Pours jet black with small tan coloured head. Amazing aroma of milk chocolate licorice bullets. A little roasted grain and a hint of smoke in the back ground. Flavours are sweet but not overly so. Subtly bitterness comes through. Creamy mouth feel. Very nice beer.

Bottle 50cl from Papsoe thanks a lot, bottle to be finished in 2007 !. A dark beer with medium brownish head. Nose is on dark malt and smoked notes. Aroma is very malty, caramel malt, toasted malt, roasted malt and smoked malt, very creamy, dark chocolate notes, coffee / expresso notes, fresh brown bread notes too, fruit part is on licorice. Texture is amazing, so creamy, near to Nogne ones, so sweet, no acidity, not much astringence, smoked notes are nice, a very pleasant and easy drinkable beer, alcohol is well hidden. A very good one, thanks so much Papsoe.
