UPDATED: MAR 9, 2008 50 cL botte (batch 191). Pours black/deep brown with a thick chocolate head. Nice liqourice chocolate roasted malt and slight smoked aroma, classic with a slight orange feel. Flavour is heavy on all notes, classic Ølfabrikken to have a heavy bitterness into the finish. Before that chocolate, slight liqourice and roasted malt notes with a whiff of wineous dried fruits make out a great porter brew, very classic but just much more powerfull than other baltic porters around. Great brew that keeps lingering long after the last sip.
From 50 cl bottle brewed at Nøgne Ø for dist. with the Shelton Brothers. Distinct dark horizon aroma initially. Aroma is chalky, light smoked. Light fruity flavour. Domininantly smoked flavour. Ends lingering dry malty and smoked finish.8-4-8-4-17=4.1

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2009 (On tap) Pitch black with a small, creamy, light brown head. Very roasted/burned aroma. Quite full-bodied, with notes of burned malt leaving a dry bitterness. Underlying sweetness, but rounded and very smooth. Very classical Porter of superior quality. 281005

[Draught at Købehavnske Øldage] Dark black, creamy head. Rich coffee aroma. Dryish and smooth. Tar competes with coffee for domination. Solidly malty, but towards the finish it turnsh somewhat harsh and inky. In my opinion Ølfabrikken makes other beers that are far better.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2006 Simply one of the best porters/stouts I have ever tasted. Black with brown head. Chocolate charamel and fruity. The fruityness is a bit like in Ellezelouise Hercule. Full and long finish. Bravo!

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2013 2013-01-30, bottle courtesy of humlelala, 7.5% ABV, bb 25.04.2013, 8-5-8-4-16=41 Black color with generous compact head. Intense aroma, with roasted malts, dark chocolate, leather, Shitake mushrooms, some cellar mold. The mouthfeel is very smooth in the front, drier in the end; good flavor of roasted malts, without being too ashy, with correct bitterness; it also has some dark chocolate. Excellent.
2007-05-11, bottle at Københavnske Øldage 2007, 7-4-7-4-14=36 Black color; thin head. Some aroma of roasted malt, liquorice. Good body structure, powerful mix of malt, caramel, roasted malt and liquorice.
2006-02-19, bottle, 7.5% ABV, 9-5-9-5-18=46 Pours oily, it has a black heart colour with a huge brown head. The aroma has a strong bread touch in the beginning; then it develops itself into some roasted malt, hops, milk. It’s a 9.5, a symphony! The mouthfeel is round, full, with a silky power of roasted malt, a touch of liquorice, the right balance between sweetness and bitterness. Everything is perfectly blended together. It has a powerful and long finish, dominated by the burnt sugar, roasted malts and coffee. I’m drinking it in the Courage Imperial Russian Stout original glass, and it’s perfect, it’s a real Imperial Russian Stout! Marvelous!
