It pours black as sin with great aroma. It comes off the tounge with a a very nice roasted barley taste with a carmel the hits the back of the tounge. Very light hints of chocolate and vanilla also. Too bad that I cannot find this in Michigan and had to drive aprox. 100 miles into South Bend IN to buy it.

Pitch dark with a small tan head. Surprised by only slight bitterness combined with the very full smell / aroma. A hint of Danish sour dough bread and strong coffee. Alcohol seemd very present and made it a bit unblanced (the declaration on the can said 8,5 %, not 7.5). Would be nice to try it on tap.

Poured from can and is very black. Thick and with a brown foam. Aroma: a lot of roast, and a hint of fruit. Flavour: roasted and some vinousity from the darker malts.

Tasted with my Wonderful Husband: Pours a very dark chocolatey brown with a caramel colored thin head. Aroma of roasted malts, fresh brewed coffee and dark chocolate. Tastes like a black coffee with a strong chocolate finish. Little to no taste of alcohol with a thick feel in the mouth. I would drink again.

A mistaken attempt to make an imperial stout. I found it sourish, stale and a bit dull. This unfiltered substance is what gives micro brewery a bad name.

Malty, well-roasted coffee on the nose. Deep, dark color with taste to match. Creamy, roasty, dark fruit flavors abound. Love this beer. My former favorite was the Ed Fitz from Great Lakes, but I like this better. Just damn good!

tried this one at langerbroen, poured a nice brown head which faded but could be easily roused. (maybe would of hung around a bit longer if poured a bit different) smell was great lots of sweet roasted smells and the flavor was roast coffee and licorice and alcohol. the mouth feel was great, oily. would by it again but not sure if i could drink more than a few. pretty heavy on the palate.

Nice hint of aroma of fermenting fruit when poured. Dark head with little or no lace. Full tongue flavor, roast but not burnt or smoked. A porter as porter should be brewed.
