Introduced at ’Fynske Øldage’ 2005.

English: A dark and rich porter inspired by the Baltic porters traditionally made in Scandinavia. Roasted without being burned or bitter, with the flavor dominated by dried fruits and vinous notes. High amounts of residual sugars and a fruity aroma makes this beer the perfect companion for chocolate desserts, if served lightly chilled. Brewed on Maris Otter ale malt, British Brown Malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley, two types of caramel malt and brown sugar.

Bottle. Brown pour with tan head. Roasted malt aromas. Dark bitter roasted malts, brewer’s liqourice, better coffee. A little disappointing after all the hype..

really nice head, lacing, off brown, just like porter should have the body is black. Aroma is of roasted and burned malts. stoutish coffie aroma without caramel sweetness, (ok, maybe some), taste is very dry and bitter, smoked, dense taste, after first dry and smoked sips it goes more smoothly but still every tate you feel the strong smoke (cigarette, cigar smoke), smells factory hehe

UPDATED: JUL 26, 2009 Swing top bottle. Opague, dark brown creamy head. Roasted malt and a hint of smoke and dark chocolate in the aroma. Malty, medium to full bodied, very powerful porter. Loads of roast, hints of beechwood and cacao. Dark roasted espresso. Heavy stuff, although you really can’t taste much alcohol. 8 4 7 4 16 = 3.9 Can @ RBESG Grand Tasting 2009. The Old Swing top bottle version is history, so this one will count for the rating. Almost black and opague. Roast and apple syrup in the aroma and flavor. Roastbitter finish with some aluminium. Still quite OK, but in no way comparable to the ’old’ Olfabrikken.

Opaque, black with a dark brown head that has an orange hue. Caramel, licorice, coffee, smoke, and milk in the aroma. Not as complex on the palate as the aroma. The alcohol and its warmth outshines the other components. Chalky on the palate and quite thin in body. The hop flavor, which is tropical, shows itself as the beer warms and there is an almost chilli powder-like flavor throughout.

The aroma is malty and burned it looks dark. The flavor is of too much coffee, although it gets better all the time - it also has a nice flavor of laqurice.

Canned: Black, brown head. Aroma and flavour dominated by roasted malts. Very faint notes of smoke and licorice. Underlying malty sweetness. Alcohol. Sugar sticky palate. Not too impressive given Ølfabrikkens overall standard. Maybe the canned version is too different to the bottled/draught versions.

Pitch dark with a small tan head. Surprised by only slight bitterness combined with the very full smell / aroma. A hint of Danish sour dough bread and strong coffee. Alcohol seemd very present and made it a bit unblanced (the declaration on the can said 8,5 %, not 7.5). Would be nice to try it on tap.

Can 0,33l. I can see nothing special in this beer. The power is missing. I was very sad because i have look forward to taste this winning beer :-(
