3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Denmark - thanks, Martin!! Murky red-brown with no head and almost still. Port wine, sultana and musty barrel aromas, huge rich bodied, sweet yet with a dry winey and hoppy character, like a bitter-hopped Port. Faint coffee, and a lightly bitter sweet finish.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. A very light-looking quad. Aroma is portvine, dark fruit, a little alcohol. The taste doesn’t have the same portvine character, but sugar, dark fruit, some oak and a little sourness. Medium mouthfeel that lingers for ever. Fantastic, delicious beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. A hazy red-brown beer with no head due to loww carbonation. The aroma has notes of candy sugar, malt, fruits, prunes, and yeast. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, candy sugar, spices, yeast, prunes, and dried fruits, leading to a dry finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Vintage hoppy flavor. Strong beer in both taste and smell. Sweetness gives ballance so it does not become too strong.

Hazy red brown beer. Softish palate. This beer lets you know about it’s abv right away! It’s not a hot beer but the high alcohol appears to add dryness, warmth and aniseed. Riding alongside the alcohol is soft malt with a little caramel. Okay but not a subtle beer and not the best example from this brewer.
