A very straightforward, thirst quenching wheat beer brewed with 45% German malted wheat, 45% pilsener malt, 10% munich malt and with plenty Cascade hops providing a nice tart, wheaty finish. Only available on bottle. Ølfabrikken US Wheat is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers.

Big coarse offwhite head. Hazy opaque dark orange body. Hoppy aroma of tropical fruit and citrus. Dry acidic citric fruity taste, kind of watery. Very hop-dominated; typical wheaty characteristics are completely submerged under this. Soft, wheaty mouthfeel. Dry orangey mealy aftertaste. Quite nice, quite refreshing, but not fully balanced. (0.5l bottle from Gammel Strand, Copenhagen. Batch 242, Dec 1 2006; sampled 2 months after BBD.)

50 cL bottle (batch 170, 5 months pass BBD). Pours slight hazy yellow with a huge white and lasting head. Aroma is wheaty, slight yeasty and clearly hopped fruity. Soft/creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet and fruity. The fruity hoppiness goes great with the wheat notes. Very nicely balanced. Smooth finish, the wheat seems to provide both a feeling and flavour of smoothness into a slight dry bitter finish - still with wheat notes.

Bottle. Yellw with thin white head. Surprisingly clear. Slightly hoppy aroma with notes of heather flowers, melon and flowers. Bitter and a little salty flavour with a dry finish. Nice thirst quencher. Reminds more of a pale ale than an ameriacan wheat.

Enjoyit (3756) - Vadum, DENMARK - MAY 7, 2007
Clear golden of color with a white head. An aroma of citrus and grape, fresh in aroma. A flavor with citrus and grape, not much wheat in the taste. Tastes more like a pale ale, than a wheat.

Bottle. Batch #242. Cloudy yellow / orange color with a small fizzy fair lacing off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy hoppy, citrus, flowers, moderate yeasty. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Very nice and fresh ;o))

Hazy yellow with good creamy white head. Wheat & hops in the aroma - cascade. Lively carbonation. Very fresh taste of again - cascade hops & wheat. With the amount of hops ølfabrikken uses, they can hardly go wrong. Nice!
