Dec 13, 2008 Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of vegetables, roasted malt, and hints of smoke. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of roasted malt as well as lighter notes of soy sauce and chocolate. Nice body.

Dec 11, 2008 25.4 oz bottle. Inky brown with some wispy tan edges. Nose is Concord grape, licorice, honey, chocolate and coconut finally fading to coffee. Milky body with a tang, a little boozy. Taste is earthy licorice, mocha and burnt sugar. Dry finish with bitter citrus. Kick ass stuff.

Dec 6, 2008 750ml bottle. Small tan head atop cola brown-black body. Aroma is medium sweet, burnt/smoke, some coffee, cocoa. Taste is moderately sweet, smoke, cocoa, coffee, some honey. Smooth medium-full body. Alcohol hardly noticeable for the ABV.

Dec 2, 2008 Bottle thanks to Robert. Poured a nice black with no head. Aroma is roasted malt, little coffee, some honey. Taste is chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and honey that adds a nice finish. Texture is creamy with a medium body. Enjoyed a lot.

Dec 1, 2008 Bottle shared by robert at stateline. Black no head to speak of. Nice aroma of coffee. Taste is a nice coffee porter, almost stout like, sweet hops. Very smooth mabe bottle conditioned? Nice roasted malt taste. Average texture and low to medium carbonation level. Good beer! Thanks Robert!!!

Nov 20, 2008 750 ml bottle. beautiful dark black pour with decent head. Aromas of burnt chocolate and some coffee. Similar flavors with dark dried fruits: Raisins, prunes. Bitter dark chocolate finish. Very tasty.

Nov 17, 2008 750mL bottle, 2005 vintage, courtesy of after4ever. Thanks, Tom! Pours a dark chocolate color; light-tan head with fine-bubbled lacing. Lots of honey, bright chocolate (oily, bitter), and citrus acidity in the nose; acidity chocolate. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy dried fruits, bright citrus acidity and bitter chocolate; again, an oddly acidic, chocolatey porter; a bit too much citrus and astringency for my liking, but with a solid milk chocolate, nougaty core. Lengthy finish: acidic citrus bitterness, chocolate, minerals, and nougat.
