A black beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet with very strong notes of chocolate, but also a bit of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of chocolate and roasted malt, leading to a bitter long lasting end, where also a faint note of grapefruit mixes in. It has a powerful body. I find it quite simple - but very nice.

50 cL bottle (batch 230). Pours pitch black with huge creamy brown chocolate head. Heavy chocolate, caramel and roasted aroma. Thick creamy mouthfeel. Thick licourice flavoured followed by a chocolate softness and ending in a hops and coffee bitterness. Liqourice dominant flavour is leveled somewhat off during every sip making the chocolate and hoppy bitterness more clear. Great beer.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours completely, opaque black - almost tar-like - with a creamy, light brown head. Burned, coffeeish aroma. Very full and rich body with burned and smoky accents - very burned actually. Again flavours of coffee and tar with a light underlying tartness. A distinct bitterness that seems to mainly derive from the burned malts, but this is loaded with aroma hops as well - otherwise it wouldn’t be an Ølfabrikken, would it? An interesting beer with lots of good stuff, but also hard to digest. 130107

Bottled (Batch 230) . Pitch black colour with mediumsized thick creamy brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate and some fruitish hoppy hints. Flavour is roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate at first. Afterwards when it warms up a bit it gets very vanillaish and creamy also. Some hoppy hints also show in the flavour. A very pleasant imperial stout.

Bottled, thanks ante! Black as night, dense beige head. Coffee aroma. Loads of salt, tar and asphalt. Fairly sweet with compact, clean mouthfeel. A smack in your face of tarry malt. Salty bitterish finish. Not complex or very refined, just boldly flavourful American style. Just the sort of beer that ends up on the top-50.

Agressive! Rerating sep 07. Tasted with beermouth. This was even better the 2nd time. Wauw... so intense, filling, thick, smooth, complex, so fantastic in all categories.

Black color; nice thick foam; a ring of it is persistent till the end. Strong full aroma: roasted malt, malt, caramel; cheesy; coffee, hops. Thick body, flavor of malt caramel and roasted malt, well mixed, some sweetness, light fruitness. Good mix in the final as well, with some more liquorice. Excellent.
