Pours a brillant reddish pink. Aroma is cherry candy. Flavor is very sweet. Loads of cherry, very sweet without ant tartness to cut through this. Light honey but it really is like drinking sweetened cherry juice. Overall not bad a few ounces at a time.

bottle - Pours clear light gold and has a big cherry aroma with some honey in the background. The flavor is a very sweet marriage of black cherries and honey that definitely tends more toward the fruit. Like the other Oliver fruit honey wines, it would be nice if they would tone down the syrupy sweetness a bit. The finish is fruity and sweet too. Not bad.

Bottle purchased at Liquor Barn in Lexington. Clear pink pour with no head and very minimal legs. Aroma of cherry cough syrup and honey. Cherry Kool-aid flavor with some sweet honey before a cherry cough syrup finish.

Bottle. It poured a reddish color with no head. The aroma was notes of dark cherries, alcohol, and some honey. The flavor was sweet, with a light to moderate acid finish. The taste was a decent amount of fruit character that is very syrupy. This was my first mead, so was not sure what to expect.

Black cherry nose. Clear magenta, still. Black cherry flavor, medium body. Delicious, but simple and is more sweet wine-like than mead-like

Deep artificial red body, it looks and smells like grenadine syrup, only less viscuos. Perfectly still, it doesn’t show legs on the glass when swirled. The nose also has some cherry Jolly Ranchers. The taste is very sweet young mead with a fair amount of the fake cherry taste thrown on top. The beginning is the cherry candy, but then it goes south. As you swallow, you get light paper notes along with a medicinal finish. There is also some persistent band aid. I want to like this, but the off flavors are a little much. Reminiscent of Night Train, this is best drank fast and cold.

wild on the cherry flavor, it brings out a combination between cherry and honey. brings a pretty good balance.

The aroma is like cherries and a bit of honey. The appearance is red and still. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall this is not that bad but the cherries are a little artificial like cough drops.

Clear bottle. Aroma reeks of - what else - black cherry. Has a distinct Fruit Roll-Up quality but only distantly and nothing cloys. A noted but understated alcohol presence. Atomic red color is vibrant and headless. Fruitiness is strong and dominates anything else in the mouth, only signs of honey are in the oblique sweetness, perhaps in the calming, warming finish. But I wouldn’t have guessed this a mead. Alcohol is certainly present toward the end, but we don’t get to eye-watering territory until six or seven quick ounces. Lightly acidic, very lightly tart light body, not a world-beater but a nice little local aphrodisiac.

Bottle. No head (still). Body is clear medium reddish-purple. Aroma is notes of black cherry (ironically I just had Brown Cow black cherry fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt today so that specific fruit is really fresh in my mind...and this is a genuine black cherry odor), alcohol, light note of honey. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic. Medium body, syrupy texture, flat carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Good fruit character but my problem with it is it clobbers any other aromas that might be hiding in there. Alcohol seems to be clean. Eye-catching color. Quite syrupy-sweet, with less acidity than expected/desired. Ok, but definitely needs more restraint wrt the fruit...they may as well have just made a cherry wine rather than a mead.
