Appearance: very dark brown, with a thick, creamy beige head and minimal lacing. Aroma: primarily chocolate, with some general light roast undertones. Taste: chocolate, light coffee, with a bit of cream. Finish: smooth, creamy, and pleasantly dry. Notes: Great oatmeal stout, with a nice light abv. On draft at the Ale House Columbia.

With Tim. On tap at Pratt Street Ale House. Almost too smooth and frothy. Not much flavor.

dark sepia, thin tan cream head. Musky coffee nose is grocery store grinds. Flavor shows light chocolate and sugar up front before wood enters, leading to airy marshmallow finish. Softest profile, accents porter qualities though more hop and grain preferred.

Cask at fireworks Arlington - pours pitch with a thin head. Aroma is oatmeal with a side of bacon. Taste is bitter sweet. Palate is quite thin, finishes dry. Not sure the cask is adding much, really. Overall, meh.

Cask at fire works arlington. Pours black with a thin khaki head that leaves no lacing. Fairly big bacon and maple syrup notes on the nose. Chocolate on the tongue. Thin mouthfeel. Finish is solid. I wish this was bigger.

On nitro tap at Pratt. Pours a hazed ruby amber with a thin to medium sized beige head. Light lemon, malt and toast. Medium bodied, creamy and smooth, toasty. Easy drinking, toast and malt. Chewy malt, sweet toast, crisp bitterness, nice toast notes.

On cask at Pizzeria Paradiso in D.C. This beer appears a near black shade. The beige, sandy head has excellent retention and leaves a thick coating of lacing on the glass. The aroma has a strong cocoa presence, with notes of vanilla, roasted malt, coffee and subtle alcohol. The beer tastes pretty good, with a decent balance of flavors. The feel is creamy and smooth, as is typical with a cask ale. Overall, a good brew.

Cask at Rustico Alexandria. Poured a dark brown color with a off-white head. Aroma was mild roasted malts. Flavor was light roasted malts, perhaps a note of chocolate. Thin mouthfeel.
