Tap. Pours clear copper with a trace of creamy white head. Aroma is caramel and cookie malts, floral hops, lemon, grassy notes, and light vegetal notes. Flavor is sweet malt forward with dry hops (light bitterness), light fruit esters, and some vegetal notes; not much of a finish. Light body and low carbonation. Maybe a bad batch? What I had a year ago was much better.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 MrChopin (2527) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - NOV 6, 2012
hazy amber, lasting cream head, moderate lacing. Lightly spiced nose of nutmeg, mushroom dankness. Flavor a bit vegetal, heavy spice sweetness, chocolate, off sour notes drawing light ash contrast in finish. Soft profile smothers tongue. Can you say ash blanket?
1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 GT2 (5659) - Riverslime, California, USA - NOV 4, 2012
Tap at Pratt St Alehouse. Pours a clear tea amber. Thick, creamy cask or nitro looking head. Muted nose. Taste is dusty and vegetal. Mild bark bitterness. Not a lot going on, though almost every beer of the 10 we sampled as a group had some very astringent and chemical flavors. I think there is a major flaw in the overall brewing process here.
