Cask. Medium soft beige head atop black body. Aroma is medium sweet, roast, some bittersweet chocolate, smoke. Taste is medium sweet, roast, some coffee, light dark chocolate, smoke. Soft, light-medium body.

On cask at Churchkey. I was fairly disapointed today by this cask porter after my wonderful experiance with th ESB yesterday. It was bland and watery with no distinguishable coffee or chocolate notes.

At the Wharf Rat near Camden Yards, I had this and it was called Oliver’s Blackfriar Peeping Tom. Dark brown body with a large bubbled head, toasty brown colored head. flavor is thin toasty malts, bread, burnt biscuits with some light black smoked corn. Pale and salty, creamy smoke flavors. Smell is charcoal and soy sauce burnt malts.

Draft at Wharf Rat on Pratt. Dark brown to near black bodied. Nose is roasty malts, dark chocolate hints, and light coffee. Taste is much the same (roasted malts, chocolate and coffee), but with light licorice flavors. Body is medium with a mild carbonation to it. Finishes with more roasted malts and chocolate.
