From 004, this looks like a stout, smells like s stout and tastes as pretty darn good one. Smoky, chocolate, roast, medium strong and quite drinkable.

The smokiness is very intense at the first sips and I’m already making faces like a little kid who doesn’t want to eat his porridge. Still it’s not only smoked malts, the other flavors come in after it’s sits for a while. Caramel, roast and even some hops. Soft carbonation, buttery finish. Overall- not my thing and too much smoke kills it.

Bottle sampled at Amager Bryghus, thanks to Papsø. Dark brown close to black with a medium sized light brown head. Nose has charcoal, caramel, berries. Flavour delivers some meaty smoke, caramel, dark bread, brown sugar. Full body, soft carbonation, light alcoholic, light sweet. Long smokey finish. Pleasant.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an opaque black with a dense and creamy. Heavy roast aroma. Medium body, roasty and ashy, some sweet vanilla. Not bad, but the ashes are a bit harsh. 270315

(33 cl bottle from Gorki Café Bar; Batch #86; BBD: June 25th 2015) Pours black with little, tan head that dissipates leaving lace. Decent but shortlived head regeneration can be obtained by swirling the glass. Aroma is pleasant, subdued and ashy notes of smoke with a hint of toasted malt. Oily texture, soft carbonation, medium body and a toasted finish with very little ascerbicity. Flavour is balanced and neither too sweet nor too bitter. Has a slight ascerbic edge but it’s pleasant. Girlfriend says: "Hum. Quite a lot of taste!"

(Õllenaut Suitsu Porter) Bottle 330 ml from a European Swap edition. Served into a snifter, ABV 5.4% Dark brown colour on the body, almost two fingers of thick, light brown head, with very good retention, leaving medium lacing on the glass. Aroma has lots of smoke, smoked ham, hops and citrus emerging from the back. Taste also of smoke, citrus, grass, smoked ham, roasted malts on the finish. Mildly bitter. Very thick body, nicely carbonated. Creamy, smooth and silky on the palate, the highlight of this beer and with only 5.4% alc, great. Very nice.

Palme (3605) - Bergen, NORWAY - DEC 31, 2014
Sampled from a 0.33l bottle @ RBNG 2014. Not to much smoke in the aroma on this to be honest. Having problems finding any smoke at all really. It has more of a hoppy bite on the nose really. Some soft roasted tones and a little bit of chocolate. Lots of flavor. It’s mild only in the mouth and small prickling on the below average carbonation level. Drying chocolate, some more smoke nuances in the taste compared to the aroma at least. Coffee sour minerallish finish. Not bad tasting at all actually. 15.02.2014
