3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 camborne (291) - Hopkins, Minnesota, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Nice sour nose. Taste is lovely sweet and sour. Rhubarb is sour people and this is exactly what it is meant to taste like. Dont understand the hate for this one. If you dont want a sour beer dont buy a rhubarb one, go get a raspberry one.

Bottle pour. Don’t really know what to make of this one...
Pour is a hazy light straw with pink highlights. Not much head to speak of, the cabonation is actually quite lite. Aroma is surprisingly acidic, verging on vinegar. Some indeterminate tart fruit as well, sweet malt character, and some floral notes. Taste is really, really different from the way the aroma lets on. I don’t know if the vinegar notes come from the rhubarb (I have not gotten that when I have brewed with it!) but the taste is very one dimensional with sweet floral malt and sugared fruit. The sweetness is not inherently a bad thing, but it very unexpected after the aroma. Finishes with slight tartness, but not at all what it smells like. Low carbonation accentuates the sweetness here. Just OK...I really wanted to like this, but I far prefer the regular version

750ml bottle. Poured a yellow color with a tinge of orange. Aroma was vegetal, vinegar, with plenty of rhubarb. I’m really not a huge fan of rhubarb on its own, so I was hoping that this wasn’t massive rhubarb. Flavor was about the same. Unfortunately not a fan.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 MrChopin (2527) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 5, 2013
brilliant gold, thinnest white bubbled ring. Nose is vinegar, light apple, honey, paint thinner. Flavor is more vinegar, thin spice, tea, even in body. Thin, watery, dull, and offensive. Messy.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 argo0 (10365) - Washington DC, USA - MAR 4, 2013
75cl, thanks nmann08. Small white head atop lightly hazed apple juice body. Aroma is medium sweet, lemon, some rhubarb, funk. Taste is moderately sweet, lemon, rhubarb, some alcohol warming. Sticky medium-full body, low carbonation.

The beer is orange with minimal head. The imparts booze, hints of nail polish, odd. The flavor brings sweet nail polish and fruit. WTF? This beer is just weird and wrong. Rhubarb is there but doesn't fit in. Pass.

Bottle courtesy of n,an08, thanks! Cloudynpale yellow color, almost flat. Aroma of sour stone fruit. Taste is slightly sour and dusty apricots and peaches.

750mL thanks to nmann08. Pours a low haze golden. No real head formation. Nose is mildly funky, mild white vinegar, thick honey, fresh rhubarb/strawberry. As it warms, heavy acetic acid takes over. Taste is thicker honey, some odd white vinegar, sharply spicy and sour acetic acid/vinegar. Odd combination: vinegar, honey, rhubarb.

This was a big disappointment. The description and idea behind the beer sounded like it would be right up my alley but it fell flat. We put this beer aside at our tasting and came back to it an hour later. The warmth really helped it out and that's why my rating is over three. As it warms you finally get some nice rhubarb flavor that doesn't seem artificial.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 oakbluff (395) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - JAN 1, 2013
Pours cloudy marmalade with a healthy orange glow. No head to speak of. Nose- definitely can notice the rhubarb but also mixed with a strange almost solvent like smell. Taste- juicy rhubarb on the forefront that gets the mouth watering with a lactic like property, followed by honey and biscuit. Not much depth to the base beer. On the plus side, not boozy at all but outside of the nice rhubarb, there’s not much to this beer. Carbonation quite low for style. Has potential just not quite there.
