COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"The sun beer from Steinkjer". Unfiltered, unpasteurised, bottle conditioned. Sigrid was the housewife of Egge farm 1000 years ago, when beer also was brewed at Egge. If the weather was fine, they used to dry malts in the sun, this method gave the beer a fine yellow colour and a "taste of the sun".

Bottle from Meny Oslo City enjoyed at home
Orange hazed, almost no head. Smell of green grass, cooked potatoes (!!!), floral aromas and some malts. Moderate sweet, a strange of boiled potato water, some sweet fruity flavors. Totally this ends up quite far away from what i consider a good beer i’m afraid. Strange strange stuff

DWG; Pours hazy cobber with a short lived off-white head. Aroma is malt, yeast, caramel, light on the fruit and spice. Taste is less, moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a somewhat lasting, light spice finish. Body is thin to medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft to avarage.

Bringing klar med lavt hvitt skum. Malt, sydhavsfrukter og appelsinlukt. Frisk god ferskensmak, sitrus og røde bær. Kort ettersmak, lite bitterhet.

0.5l bottle. This is a cloudy not beautiful looking kinda dark orange one with a medium sized bubbly off-white top. Mild on the nose, but it’s giving away some yeast fruity tones. A bit of apple and cardboard combined with a soft mild sweetness. Fair enough. Hmm.. It doesn’t really taste all that good. Old and undress mineral watered flavors here. It feels light oily in the mouth and it has a average carbonation level. Lots of yeasty notes with old warm tropical juice left in the box. Ends with a rough and malty aftertaste. Bah, this was quite a disappointment. Grows a bit on you after a while, but I did not finish the bottle. 22.12.2013

Bottle from Matkroken Natland, Bergen. Pours a deep slightly hazy orange body with a small white head. Nose is caramel malts, hay, grains, wet grass and hints of sulfur. Taste is grainy caramel, hay, sulfur, astringent yeasty tones and hints of wet grass. Light body, medium carbonation. Apart from the somewhat disfiguring astringent yeast/sulfur tones, this comes across as pretty much "yet-another-undefinable-Norwegian-farmhouse- well known to my palate from other, similar small breweries with small capacity, weak distribution and whose majority of beers are brewed to conform to the ABV grocery store limit in Norway, 4,7 % ABV. Not very impressive.
