Fra flaske på Cardinals juleølsmaking nov-12: aroma av malt og litt tørket frukt. Smaken er i den syrlige retningen og selv med en noe tynn ettersmak er det mye god smak for et øl i butikkstyrke. Må prøves igjen!

Bottled. Very dark brown, lively carbonation, almost a gusher. Caramel, malt, chocolate, cocoa, despite all this, it is rather dry.

0.5l bottle. This is a blurry deep amber brown one and it has a small really bubbly off-white top. A bit mild on the nose at first. I get a little bit of chocolate and licorice. Mild traces of cocoa powder, but it’s not really a aroma bomb this. Gets a tad more present after a while in the glass. It has this really sour-ish flavor. Lots of old silo grass with burned wood, lacto sweet and some really thin and watery traces of chocolate. It’s really thin and watery in the mouth and quite gently carbonated. Didn’t really have huge expectations here, but have to admit that this was a bit of a downer. Drinkable but no need for a revisit here. 28.12.2013

Bottle from Matkroken Natland, Bergen. Pours a deep clear copper-hued bronze-colored body with a small off-white head. Nose is nuts, dark chocolate, straw and hints of bread and grains. Taste is grains, bread crusts, straw, dark chocolate and hints of caramel. Light body, medium carbonation. A quite drinkable, though not entirely impressive, Christmas beer from Ølve på Egge.

Appearance: Dark brown and subtle red color with a off white head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Roasted malt and light fruity.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet and a mild bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Caramel malt, roasted malt and light fruity.
Overall impression: With the name: Vinter Blot: I would have expected a bit more punsh. Anyway a nice beer.
Personal stats: Bottle from Varnaveien Mineralvann in Moss, Norway.

09.11.2012. 0,5l Bottle. Cardinal, Stavanger. Dark brown colour with tan head. Aroma of dark malts. Soft with flavours of dark malts. Rather flat beer with a little thin body. At the end there is a short bitter finish. There is also some sweetness.

Shared 0,5 l bottle at Cardinal. Clear deep ruby mahogany body with an off-white bubbly film. Dates, figs, roasted malts, candy and band aid on the nose. Roasted, malty, light fruity, light sweet flavors. Medium body, light syrupy and smoothish to drink. One of the better shop strength beers Ive had in a while. Tried this one last autumn when it did not stand out. The extra half year on the shelf served to improve the beer. Recommended, but store it.
