3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 abemorsten (1880) - Mosterøy, NORWAY - MAR 29, 2012
Shared 0,5 l bottle at Cardinal. Clear deep ruby mahogany body with an off-white bubbly film. Dates, figs, roasted malts, candy and band aid on the nose. Roasted, malty, light fruity, light sweet flavors. Medium body, light syrupy and smoothish to drink. One of the better shop strength beers Ive had in a while. Tried this one last autumn when it did not stand out. The extra half year on the shelf served to improve the beer. Recommended, but store it.

09.11.2012. 0,5l Bottle. Cardinal, Stavanger. Dark brown colour with tan head. Aroma of dark malts. Soft with flavours of dark malts. Rather flat beer with a little thin body. At the end there is a short bitter finish. There is also some sweetness.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Holmen1 (1079) - NORWAY - NOV 12, 2012
Fra flaske på Cardinals juleølsmaking nov-12: aroma av malt og litt tørket frukt. Smaken er i den syrlige retningen og selv med en noe tynn ettersmak er det mye god smak for et øl i butikkstyrke. Må prøves igjen!
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 berlinoise2go (481) - NORWAY - NOV 22, 2009
UPDATED: DEC 28, 2010 2009: Bottle (50cl) from Fenaknoken, Oslo. BB 13.09.2011. Reddish brown colour. Finger-thick head that quickly reduces to a thin ring. Aroma of malt and cookies. Medium-bodied, fruity, slightly tangy, malty taste. Mild bitter finish, well balanced. A nice xmas beer considering the relatively low ABV. Rating 3.1 (6, 3, 6, 3, 13).
2010: Bottle (50cl) from Varnaveien Mineralvann, Moss. BB 26.6.2012. Aroma of malt, cookies, vegetables, caramel. Acidic, malty taste - too low sweetness to balance the sourness. Light/medium body, watery mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Sour malty aftertaste with some bitterness.
