1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
950 ml plastic bottle. Finland.
Clear amber colour with small off-white head.
Bready aroma with skärgårdslimpa/svartbröd, rye, wool socks and mild syrupy sweetness in aroma. Flavour is quite mild with rye bread and some balancing dryness. Watery. Not as sweet as I feared.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Plastic bottle from Tbone, thanks! Dark brown color. Apple syrup in the aroma. Watery flavor. Certainly not too sweet with rye bread. Not much flavor, lots of carbon. Somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Drinkable.

UPDATED: FEB 15, 2011 Refreshing low-alc beer with decent aromas. Could be less sweet. Malty aromas with syrup, rye bread and hint of grass.

Well, "home beer" is just the first love on beer, and as a little boy, it just tasted better than normal high alcohol beers. And it is true - it must be true. There’s not that lovely alcohol here (at least wasn’t), but it’s so nice to drink, so it doesn’t matter. Actually this is maybe even lighter than any other drinks. Maybe water beats this, but this is just refreshing.

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Clear nut brown, small head. Raisiny wort aroma. Sweet, fruity and syrupy, light bodied with sticky rye bread and saccharine. No bitterness.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
950ml bottle, (K CM, Helsinki)
Dark brown, spongy head. Rich branny and rye aroma. pleasant carbonation, fairly full mouthfeel, some sweetness noticable. Taste similar to the aroma, very rich bready and bread puddingy. Pretty burnt too. Really tasty kalja, full taste, only downside is that the sweetness stops it from being a glubbable quaffer. Ɩ:4:6:3:11=3.0)

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Plastic bottle. Deep amber colour, mediumsized beige fluffy head. Aroma is rye bread, cardboard, saccharine, and mild rotten fruity notes. Flavour is enormously sweet along with mild roasted notes as well as ryebread. Also some cardboard in it. Tastes quite much like non-alcoholic stuff.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Plastic bottle 0,95 ltr
Dark amber color, small beige head. A bit sticky aroma of molasses, rye bread and saccarine. Watery palate. Mainly sweet, sugary flavor with some ryebread and malty notes. Low bitterness. Less offensive than Sinebrychoff’s Perinnekalja, but still not good enough to use this with food - homebrew kalja (from brewing kit) beats this.
