Pours a reddish brown with a tanned head, leaving thin lacings. Aromas of meat grilled over charcoal, caramel and a touch of dried fruits and clove. Rather dry and with only a light bitterness. Smooth beer but with some edge in the smoke. It made a fantastic companion to a hearty pork stew I must say.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2013 Bottle from systembolaget. It poured a clear dark amber liquid with a medium sized light beige head. Smell of spices, caramel malt and orange peels. Taste of Spices, burned toast, licorice, cinnamon and orange peels. Semi-smooth mouthfeel, medium thick body and medium amounts of carbonation. Decent Christmas beer with allot of christmasy spices. Re-rated in 2013. Nice fresh smoky character to this beer.

2010 version, but also calle a smoked bock on the label - 6.5% ABV. A deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of smoke, malt, caramel, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, smoke, caramel, wood, and bread, as well as a touch of spices, leading to a dry smokey finish.

Dark brown beer. Some smoke and a hint of sourness in the aroma. Lovely smokey flavour, the smaoke playing with the swett malt that is also very present. Some dry malt and hints of cocoa, too.Open fire, bacon, this would be great with fat christmas food. Well done!

Bottle at Monks Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Pours out in a clear reddish amber colour topped with a rich frothy tan-coloured head. Rich yet rounded aroma of smoked sausages, toasted malts, iodine, sea-salt, roasted almonds and dried herbs. Medium to full-bodied with notes of sea-salt, tar, heavily smoked ham, licorice, roasted nuts and mild herbs. Firm mouthfeel with gentle carbonation. Long peaty finish of salty licorice, sea-salt and toasted malts. One of the best and unique Rauchbiers I’ve sampled to date with it’s distinctive notes of Islay whiskey.
