2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle at 73, Reykjavik; bb 11.05.15 (I assume it’s this entry)
Brown color with small head. Immediate aroma of cassia, orange peel, then other old greasy spices, even a bit herbal. Dry mouthfeel; the caramel flavor is mild and boring; ordinary bitterness; mild touch from the spices, some roasted nuts.
This one reminds me too much of the Swedish Julöl, which is not a good thing; why would people like a boring dark beer with spices for Christmas?

The best Icelandic Christmas beer this Christmas. Dark in color but a bit transparent though. Fine beige foamy head. Chocolate and malt. Nice and good bitter after taste.

malty sweet and spicy aroma.. taste is sweet with some x-mas spices, lacking bitterness to balance, little watery and uninteresting.
